Let me explain

On the day of his arrival, I didn't know how to feel or what to do. We'd made plans to see each other that night, but I didn't know where we stood or what was going on. Was it just a fling to him? Did he have a girlfriend and not tell me? Did I play myself for thinking we'd lead to something? Was it all a big fat lie?

Jane extended her stay, due to the headlines getting worse, and Alice came over, so they could both be my side. I really appreciated them for this because all I could do is re-live our moments together and see where I got the wrong idea. Sebastian had made zero attempts to talk to me after the headlines were made public, further cementing my theories of us being a lie.

08:00 pm

*phone rings*

"It's him," Alice says as she checks your phone.

"Tell him, I don't wanna talk to him," I told her, and she picked up to say that.

"Sebastian, she doesn't want to talk to you," she said to the phone, and after a few moments on the phone, she hung up.

"He's downstairs and said he won't leave before talking to you," she told me and I let out a heavy sigh.

"I can get rid of him if you want."

"It's fine, let him up," I stated.

So she did, she allowed the doorman to let him up, and when he arrived they both left to give us some privacy. He sat down on the same coach as me but left some space between us. Sebastian looked sad and couldn't look you in the eye. I tried my best not to let my emotions show and I was just there to listen to what he had to say.

"To start," he said, still not looking at me, "I'm sorry."

"For not telling me you had a girlfriend?" I asked. He sat there in silence and didn't know what to say.

"Look," I started to speak, "I'm not a homewrecker if I'd known you had someone, this wouldn't have happened-"

"She's not my girlfriend," he interrupted.

"Don't you do that, she's just a friend act."

"She's someone my manager is making me be with," he said, "it's a publicity  stunt."

"Wait, what?" I asked, confused.

"A while back, I was supposed to with this girl to promote her work but I turned it down cause I had nothing on my plate that needed the boost of the press. But this time, when they asked me, I turned it down because I wanted to come back and be with you here in New York. My manager understood, but her team released the picture without a second thought since the agreement was already made." He explained.

I couldn't say anything. On one hand, this is our job but at the same time, what does this mean for us?

"Please say something," he begged.

"How long will you have to date her for?" I broke my silence.

"Probably a couple of months till The Falcon and Winter Soldier comes out, as well as her movie."

"Who is she?"

"Her name is Myra Wright, she's an up-and-coming Australian actress," he said while looking down at his hands.

"So," I began to ask, "what does this mean for us?"

"That's a question for you to answer," he said, "I want to be with you, Y/N, and if that means having to sneak around then so be it. If you just want to be friends I'll get that and if you don't want to see me anymore, I'll understand."

I took a moment to think about and for a moment I didn't what to do or say back. The matter of the fact is, that I do want nothing more than to be with him and not hide it but for the time being we couldn't.

"I don't want to lose you," I said, "but I can't sneak around and risk my reputation and yours."

We both paused and didn't know what to say.

"Maybe, for now, we should stick to being friends for now."

"I'll respect your wishes, but I can't promise I'll behave,"  he said as he faced you.

"I'm still, mad so you won't be getting anything from me," I giggled, as he approached me and put his hand on my cheek.

"I'm sorry, I didn't say anything earlier, I hope you can forgive me," he murmured for me to hear.

"I'll think about it," I said with a smile.

As we both smiled at each other, our lips got closer to each other, and right before we could kiss, the door began to open causing us to distance ourselves from each other. Then Jane, Anthony, and Alice walked into the living room and we explained everything to them every.

Author's notes:

Hello again fellow readers, I just wanted to check-in, and clear one important thing from this chapter, the character Myra Wright is 100% fictional. I decided to do this so I wouldn't throw any shade at any real female actress in the industry. If it's you're name, I'm really sorry, I got it from a name generator website, just imagine another name for her.

Thank you for your support,

Xoxo, K💛.
