August and September had flown by and October was half way through. Wren still couldn't believe that in July she had left Colorado and was living her life in sunny California. It was starting to be chilly in the early mornings and evenings in the fall weather, but in Colorado she basically would've been freezing.
She had just finished curling her hair when she heard Miguel talking to Johnny in the kitchen. Johnny was doing really well too, drinking much less, getting real sleep, putting in time at the dojo, he was even looking to hire another instructor to teach some additional classes.
Wren stood up from her vanity chair, taking a final look at herself in the mirror, a small knock at her door frame, she looked over at Miguel. "Ready to go?" he questioned, adjusting the book bag strap on his shoulder.
"Does anybody really want to go to school though?" she questioned with a laugh, grabbing her sweatshirt from her bed and throwing it over her tank top. She carefully pulled her curls out and grabbed her bag.
"Okay, now I'm ready, let's go."

Wren pulled into her parking spot, turning down the radio from the music that she and Miguel had blasting from their ride over, putting up the windows and turning off the car. Tory pulled in next to the, as they got out of the car. "Who's turn was it to get the Starbucks?" she questioned with a yawn.
Miguel gave his girlfriend a look, wiggling the cup he was holding for her in front of her face with a grin. "You know it was us," he laughed, kissing Tory and handing her the warm beverage.
"Mmm, you're the best," she hummed happily, sipping slowly from the cup. "I don't know how you drink cold beverages when it's this cold," she insisted, taking Miguel's hand. He looked at his cup, shaking around the ice. "I don't like coffee," he shrugged, sipping his green tea.
Wren put the beverage holder on the roof of her car, fishing her bag out of the back seat and closing the door. She grabbed the holder with the four drinks, one for her, one for Hawk, one for Aisha and one for Doug. It had become somewhat of a Friday tradition for the group, and they alternated who picked up and everybody paid for their own drinks.
"You got it, Wren?" Miguel questioned over his shoulder. Wren nodded, a quick step to catch up to Tory and Miguel. Aisha and Doug stood outside, reaching out for their cups to take them from the holder. "Thank youuuu," Aisha sang with a grin. "Hawk's inside, he said he would meet you by your locker."
The group went inside, splitting off their separate ways to head to class and Wren walked toward her locker, grinning as she saw Hawk, he gave her a half wave, more like a wave with two fingers. She was just a few steps away when a sharp bump came into her shoulder, and while she managed to keep a hold of the drink holder that held Hawk's drink, her own, that she pulled out, jostled in her hand, lid popping off and hot tea getting all over her hoodie.
