Chapter 1: I am...Who?

Katelyn paced back and forth in the hallway clearly being worried as she waited for the doctor to exit the room

As soon as he exited the room he went over to her

"What's the news doc?"

"I'm so sorry but.....He has amnesia" The doctor said fixing his glasses

"Will he ever remember me or anyone else?" Katelyn asked while rubbing her arms

"No he won't,hence why it's up to you to help him remember who he is and who he loves"

Katelyn then stared at the promise ring Travis had given her "Who he loves....."

"I have another patient to check up on,you may enter if you'd like but please be careful with whatever you say"

"I will,thank you doctor"

She then walked until she reached his room '404'

As she grabbed the doorknob she felt a tear go down her cheek

~Flashbacks~

"I don't know why you still keep up with me..." A crying Katelyn said after she threw a chair

"What?" Travis asked

She faced him "Can't you see I'm a waste of time? I don't deserve to be with you! I don't deserve to be loved..."

He cupped her cheeks and leaned in touching her forehead "I promise you that you deserved to be loved, you deserved to be called special, and you deserved to be mine"

"H-huh?"

He wiped away her tears and kissed her forehead and grabbed a ring he had out of his pocket "I have loved you for as long as I have known you, for as long as I will live I will promise that you will always feel loved and BE loved.

I'll never leave you, I promise"

"I'm going to ask you a question and you have to answer honestly"

"I'm ready"

"Will you ever forget me?"

"W-what?"

"I-it's just that...I'm so scared to lose you, you're the only one who has stayed there for me even if I couldn't control my anger. I'm scared that maybe one day you'll leave me for someone else"

"I will never leave you Katelyn"

"What makes you say that?"

"Because I love you"

~End of Flashback~

"H-he loves me...." She said looking at the ring "I hope your telling the truth Travis..."

She then entered the room and saw Travis sitting on his bed

"Hello?" He told the 'stranger'

"H-hello Travis"

"Do I know you?"

She looked at the ring and smiled at him "Y-yeah I do, I'm your bestfriend Katelyn"

"My bestfriend?"

"Mmhm"

"How did we meet?"

"Our friend Aphmau introduced you to me when we were in high school, we became good friends after we moved into the same neighborhood when we became adults and ever since we've been hanging out a lot and...." She said while she looked at the ring

"And....?"

"We fell in love..." She said quietly

"We what?"

"W-we became good friends!" She said as she scratched her nape

"I see....Katelyn may I ask you something?"

"Go ahead!"

"Who exactly was I?"

"Y-your Travis of course!"

He chuckled slightly "I meant who was I as a person?"

"Ah...Well...You were kind, patient, very humorous...And very understanding"

"Hm?"

"You always put others before yourself, you were too nice for your own good making others take advantage of you a lot..." She cleared up her throat to prevent her from crying anymore "But you always stayed strong and loyal to your friends and your partner..."

"Hm...What's that your holding?" He asked pointing to the ring she held in her hand

She then hid the ring behind her back "N-nothing!"

"Well seeing as you were looking at it earlier it clearly shows that it was something"

"M-my boyfriend gave it to me"

"Boyfriend huh? Did he propose to you?"

"He didn't...He gave me this ring as a promise"

"What was the promise?"

She looked at him and a tear fell down "You really don't remember me, do you?"

"I'm so sorry but I really don't..."

She wiped away her tear and stepped backwards "I-I'm sure you would want to meet your friends huh? Just give me a moment I'll call them in"

Immediately she headed for the door and as she exited she heard a faint "Wait!" from Travis before shutting the door and continued to cry on the ground until

"Katelyn!" A female voice shouted from afar

She looked up to see who was calling her and saw Aphmau with Travis' main friends Dante, Laurance and Garroth

"A-aphmau?" She said standing up

"What happened in there? Why are you crying? Is he...."

"N-no he isn't dead..."

"Then what happened?" Dante asked

"He has amnesia"

"Oh my...Katelyn I'm so sorry...." Aphmau said as she embraced Katelyn

"I-its okay...It's not your fault anyway..."

"Have you told him about who you were to him?"

"N-no...I couldn't bring myself too..."

"Why? Was it because of the argument you guys had?"

"Yeah...I want to see if he would still love me now that he's forgotten who I am"

"You are playing a VERY dangerous game Katelyn"

"But atleast I'll be playing it fair"

"Are you okay?"

"I-I'll be fine....He'll still love me...."
