A/N: Sorry for the wait, back to our scheduled Haruto and Ollie bonding sessions. There will be more flashbacks later, but here's some fluff hehe. Also this video is also my go-to when I'm feeling down, so enjoy <3
Ollie's POV
For the first time, I was hesitant to stay in Haruto's cafe; terrified that Mason would come back to start a scene again. Seeing the looks of judgement from the other patrons had stirred up so much paranoia that I even brought a pair of sunglasses and an old raggedy beanie in case I needed to hide myself from Mason.
But as I had learned in high school, my emotions were easily read, always plastered on my sleeve like a tattoo. Of course, Haruto had seen right through me as he approached the table during his lunch break, two cold brews this time, along with his lunch and pastry bag.
He slid into the booth beside me, handing me my cold brew and the pastry bag. Turning the volume down on my laptop he leaned toward me, glancing at my Spotify page. I hoped the bright purple album cover distracted him enough that he didn't notice most of his playlists were saved as well. He tilted his head, probably seeing what kind of vibe my music was playing at the moment, as Olivia Rodrigo and Conan Gray's music were the only ones displayed in this playlist. It didn't help that Brutal was the song that decided to play right after Conan's Checkmate finished.
Moving my cursor to skip it, I glanced at Haruto who gave me a pointed look.
"Oh, someone's angry. You aren't an angsty pop punk teen anymore, Ollie." He chided, a smirk bringing out his dimple. "It's only supposed to be a phase, remember?"
I rolled my eyes. "Leave Olivia and Conan alone. They're my comfort artists. Her new album is everything."
"They're amazing, but it's only going to make you angrier and sadder." He grinned. "Look, as much as I love that angry Ollie from the other day, I prefer a much happier Ollie."
I continued the music, pretending to ignore him as Olivia sang the chorus.
"You mean the cold brew is not enough to cheer you up?" He let out a dramatic gasp. "Oh no, that's terrible. I've gotta bust out the secret arsenal, I guess."
"Secret arsenal?"
He cleared his throat dramatically and slid my laptop toward himself, reaching over to pull the right earbud so he could listen to it too. "I've got a plethora of good videos that will totally make you happy. I promise; there's no way that they won't make you extremely happy afterward. After my childhood cat died, this video literally made me happy-cry for weeks."
"I didn't have a cat that died, Haruto."
"No, you didn't, but I see that frown of yours. Your face is going to be stuck like that if you keep pouting over this whole drama with that weird ex-friend of yours."
I tried tilting my laptop back towards me, but he pulled it back, opening a Youtube tab. Readjusting my look at the screen, I saw him typing a phrase spelled weird. "It's with an 'a', not an 'e.,' and I'm pretty sure it's 'ie' not 'ey.'"
"Nope, it's spelled this way, I promise." He grinned before hitting the enter key, and a bunch of videos popped up. Sure enough, it had been spelled in that obscure way. He scrolled to the video of a child holding his ears before clicking on it. He paused it before it could play. "This is the cutest kid I've ever seen; just wait."
"I don't know about that."
"Fine." He pouted. "How about this? If this doesn't make you happy or laugh, I won't bore you with any more of these silly videos or foreign music. You can listen to your sad, heartbreak music. I'll even give you fifty bucks."
