After a busy morning, what with final arrangements and getting a letter that Susan could not return in time which had stressed her out completely. Not to mention the last night's event still burning in the back of her mind, Katherine had been too tired to refuse when Luka and Stefan had dragged her away two hours before the start of the night.

They had confiscated her clipboard and handed it to the stewardess so that she could take over the final arrangements of the night and then they had called upon Katherine's only maid, Darla, who was a beautiful faun whom Katherine treasured. She was four years her junior and her soft soothing voice was always a relief to Katherine after a long day of work.

Darla had drawn the bath for her and then gotten the dress from the boys who were waiting in her main chambers. When Katherine saw the dress she nearly stormed into the main-chamber in just her dress robes.

"You two"  she called out to them in irritation, "Do you not realize what this color insinuates?"

They shared a wicked grin before turning back to her. "We know exactly what that color symbolizes Katherine darling~"

"I cannot wear it" she announced furiously.

"Why not?" Luka asked.

"Is it not the most gorgeous dress you've ever seen?" Stefan pushed.

"Yes but-"

"Is my talent not up to your standard?" Luka ventured.

"No, it's not that, it's-"

"Then why can't you wear it?" They both asked incredulously.

She let out a huff of annoyance and turned to look at the dress once more. It was truly one of the most beautiful dresses she had ever seen. It wasn't a big and fluffy dress like her golden one had been, this dress was even lighter and more airy, as if it could float away. The top part was a little risqué, designed with the boning as a corset styled top that was made with two layers of what Katherine saw was a spider tulle, a rare type of tulle that many royals sought after and could barely afford owning one.

The spider tulle continued to cover the whole dress until it touched floor length, on top of a layer of plain tulle and a silk undercoat. Even without gatherings the dress floated outwards slightly on it's own accord and had a beautiful slightly golden sheen when the lights hit. But the color was purple.

A color only meant for royalty or a person of high social standing. Katherine had only worn the color purple twice in her life at Narnia, once when she had gotten officially dubbed as the General of the Narnian armies and her tunic had been lined in a purple and a second time when she had attended a banquet with Archenland, the only country who had previously visited Narnia, but that shade of purple had been so light it had looked white and it was only due to everyone at the banquet from Narnia wearing some form of purple.

Now this purple wasn't bright at all, on the contrary it was a pretty lavender that suited Katherine's complexion and wouldn't have made such a statement. Aside from the fact it was purple! Katherine could not get that thought out of her head.

But her hesitation to completely rebuke the dress was not missed by the boys.

"I know" Stefan said, "We shall call in Queen Lucy to receive her opinion"

Katherine looked up to protest but Luka had already ushered Darla out of the room to find her. Katherine glared at the two.

"You cannot boss Darla around, or rope Lucy into your games"

But a half hour later when Lucy had arrived Katherine lost her argument for good.

"I've said it and I will not go back on my words, Kat" Lucy said firmly as she looked at her.
