*****

At times life makes you go through some harsh paths you never thought you'd be able to walk on. It drains you. It swells your feet, makes your soul bruised and body bleed but gives you no option to take someone along to hold you. Or maybe it's you. You get afraid to let anyone walk with you even if you want it so bad, but you want to protect them from all the agony and pain your shadows would be hovering over them like a curse.

Zimal was sitting on the terrace floor. It was cold. She had her coffee sitting beside her, her arms wounded around her knees and her face leaning onto her left arm. She was lost.

The bell rang and it was Rumi.

"Why didn't you tell me about Nano, bitch?"

"Get inside."

"She called me literally and threatened me to visit her."

"It was all a mess. Things.. were just really chaotic here so, i forgot to call you."

"Not taking your lame explanations. Gonna check up on Nano first. Tumhe baad mein dekhti hoon."

"As if i am scared of you?" She rolled her eyes at her.

"Shut up now."

Rumi got out of the room spending a good amount of time with Nano. Zimal was working outside and Zayan had gone out for some work. She badly hoped for him to not come back. She craved for some peace that she didn't see herself getting anytime soon.

"Let's go to your room, we gotta talk." Rumi urged, crossing her hands up her chest.

"We can't go in my room." Zimal was working in the kitchen when she said that.

"Why because your best friend is staying there?"

Zimal hardly saved the plate which was going to slip out of her hand listening to that. "Who-"

"Stop lying, Zim. I don't expect this from you." Rumi seemed damn serious.

"He's not my-"

"Nano told me everything, Zimal."

"It's not what you're thinking. You are my only friend, you know." She avoided making an eye contact with her friend occupying herself with some other random stuff in the kitchen.

"I need to meet him."

"He's gone out for something."

"You're such a-"

And Rumi kept disgracing her with her rants until she felt content.

The bell rang and Rumi ran to open the door meanwhile Zimal got disappeared from the kitchen to the terrace again.
