Your attention was drawn outside the window, watching as the shimmering reflection of the moon shine against the calm and quiet stream nearby the manor, highlighting that the end of the day was drawing soon. A soft and gentle breeze sounded softly against the trees. The sweet song of the gales almost lulling you to sleep like an endless tale.

You closed your eyes.

You were resting soundly beneath the sheets as you waited for slumber to consume you. Another lonely night, you wondered, but all is well.

Having been proposed to not long ago by the uncrowned king of Mondstadt himself, you learned to endure a painful patience. Having rarely seeing your fiancée made you realise how truly busy he were even for a man who despised the wine industry he worked for.

You were content with being a figure of mental and physical support for him, though Diluc would flat out deny any means of you trying to aid him in such profound ways. It wasn't until this night that he had finally changed his mind.

When you rolled to your side, you couldn't tell if you were dreaming of not. Diluc had entered the room almost silently if it weren't for the clanging of his belt. He strolled into the bedroom without a word, thinking that you were fast asleep as usual. He shut the door behind him and placed down his belongings quietly, too. He was careful with where he stepped as well - making sure not to accidentally trigger any loud floorboards.

Diluc flung off his jacket, setting it aside on a coat rack and next ran his hair loose. He would stare at you from the corner of his eyes, making sure that you were peaceful in your sleep. But he noticed that your breathing wasn't the same as when you were asleep. And so, he called out your name.

You were unsure whether to reply. Unsure whether you should let him carry on with his own business and unsure whether you should actually to sleep. But Diluc wouldn't let up. He walked over to the bed and placed a gentle hand on your side. You couldn't help but smile when he went through with the gesture. You couldn't stray away from him.

Despite the harsh exterior, Diluc was kind. He made it known when and where he cared and you appreciated his honest and straightforward attitude.

"Welcome home," you turned to face him over your shoulder. Diluc's eyes were blown wide with energy, something you never even considered when he returned home late. This meant that he wasn't anywhere near being tired, which confused you considering the long, harsh hours he worked sometimes.

Diluc pursed his lips, the back of his hand moving up to your cheek to stroke it. "I'm home."

You rolled over to give him a kiss on his lips. "Something the matter? Did something keep you awake?" He asked after returning the kiss. You shook your head, leaning up against the bed's headrest to sit up properly.

He eyed you carefully, though most of you was covered by the blanket, he could tell that you weren't wearing much beneath it. Diluc analysed your person. He noticed that you were in fact tired and probably on the verge of sleep. He worried that he woke you.

"I'll join you in bed in a moment," Diluc said, looking back at his belongings. You nodded, rubbing your eyes lazily.

After, you watched as he quickly left the bed and walked towards the vanity. You sought to follow him, since you were finally awake when he returned home you were curious to see what he does.

Diluc didn't notice you had followed him until he removed his shirt over his head. He saw you in the mirror's reflection, nervously shuffling behind him. He smiled.

"Come," he signalled for you to come closer, to join him. He now had you seated in his lap.

Diluc slithered his arms around your waist and nuzzled his face into your nape, closing his eyes as he adored your scent and your presence before him. You watched him grow comfortable while in his embrace. A smile crept its way onto both of your faces when you leaned into his touch.
