As Bharat kept the ring close and reality striked him hard. He again felt that incessant throb in his heart, Shame dug up the past and threw it in his face. It reminded him of all the times he failed. Including now. He could hear voices....constant screaming of Shatrughan and different questions.
Shatrughan: Bhaiya! Please come out! How would we help if you won't tell us what has happened!?
Sumitra: Putra... Are you worried about something? You always tell me everything, right? Please come out..you are scaring us.
Urmila: Bhaiya..you are the one who has taught us to be strong then why is our pillar loosing his strength today?
Urmila..that was Urmila...calm and clear, unaware of all the pain that was going to be bestowed on her yet again . It broke Bharat even more....made a tornado of that guilt, his head was bursting with pain. The girl who became a woman in just waiting for her husband...the one who has been longing to meet him...hold him ...with what face will he tell her that Laksh might never come back. Sumitra Maa...the woman who has her eyes glued on the threshold in the hope that her son will come back one day.She has spent these 14 years in austerity, constantly praying for Laksh's well being. How will he face her? How will he tell her that all that she has hoped for is gone? Her son is gone...! He couldn't...but he had to! With all the strength he had...he opened the door.
Sumitra(exhaling): Thank God ! You scared all of us ! Now, tell me everything...what's wrong?
Urmila: Bhaiya..look at your condition...
Shatrughan(cut in): Is it some news from battleground?
Urmila went pale. Unconsciously , she just started praying to hear a no...because she knew that if something unfortunate has happened ...it must have happened with Lakshman . Lakshman's words started ringing in her head...he could feel her head spinning ..
* If there comes any danger, It will first meet me*
Before she could say something . Bharat finally said a word...a solo word
"Yes"
Bharat looked down and started narrating the whole incident. Urmila just stood there , like a statue..she didn't how to react or what to say... NO ..this couldn't be true..As Bharat completed, Urmila moved towards her room. Mandavi shook her many times but that didn't bother her. She went in , straight to Laksh's bed..She carefully took out his angavastra, and wrapped it around her, it still had his scent, his warmth.
*It's a matter of fourteen years my Mila..I will be physically away...but no amount of distance can keep our hearts away, right?*
She moved towards the shivling . The diyas were still enlightened .
She didn't cry...just sat there for a long time and then, once that first tear broke free, the rest followed in an unbroken stream. She bent forward where she sat on the floor and pressing her palms to the mat, she began to cry with the force of a person vomiting on all fours.
Urmila: How unfortunate am I , Shiva? How much? So many years of agony and pain...all i asked for was swami's well being...why did you do this to me? First my sister got abducted...i still don't know in what condition is she....but i had faith...i knew that bhaiya and Soumitra would never let anything happen to her...but you...you played with me Shiva...you played with all of us! You took him away...The man i have been living for..the man I love...you snatched him away...this time forever! And all i can do is helplessly cry....you broke our hope...our last hope...the hope to meet him...to see him..to hold him and never let him go...to hear *my Mila* again...Why Shiva..why!? Bhaiya needs him...he must have been devastated... he has nobody by his side other than him. If not for us...for him..you'll have to bring him back..
As she was crying, her eyes fell on Lakshmana's portrait...his eyes..his smile..and then she imagined his lifeless face and screamed nooo!
Urmila: You promised Swami....you remember? You held my hand and promised me that you'll come back and hold it again...that you'll never go away...Raghuvanshi's don't break their promises, Sumitranandan . You can't loose...You cannot take my strength...my love...my life away from me...you'll have to wake up .
She suddenly heard the loud shreik...
It was Shatrughna!
