But I was so involved in convincing Raghunandan that it never struck me that I had ignored you altogether.As ur elder sister, I should have pleaded in ur case....'
'It doesn't matter now', Urmila sighed wearily. "It would not have helped anyway. Just like you are adamant about going with Bhaiya, no one can change Soumitra's mind . Also, both of us know by now that the two are inseparable", she smiled .
"You or I couldn't have done much. And it's for the best, at least I won't be worrying about u, Bhaiya n Swami will take good care!"
" And u ? What about you?? That's what's bothering me....of course" cried Sita
" Shush! Stop worrying. The palace is not a dangerous place!" Urmila laughed shortly " I have everyone here...."
"Except Lakshman, that is what gnawing at me....I couldn't stop Lakshman or have you with us. You may try to hide it from me but Urmi, I can feel what you are going through...But do you know why Lakshman could take such a hard decision ? 'Coz he has faith in you. I think he believes in you more than in himself. You are his tower of strength , like you have inadvertently been for us sisters. I might be the oldest but it was you on whom we relied for support and comfort. Laksh does the same. He knows that you'll be able to hold fort and bring the family together some day...."
"No, not till all of you return..."Urmila shook her head,"....that is when everything is going to be good again. These 14 years are going to be a test for each one of us. The pain and suffering is inevitable, but it will be valuable. It teaches us a lot in many ways," she said wryly.
" And, didi , please I have a request . Don't ever discuss me with Soumitra , don't do anything that would remind him of me..n pls bring him as good as I m sending him...This is my sincere appeal to both of you n bhaiya..."Saying this Urmila broke down in tears n hugged Siya.
"Urmi, I promise.."
