Ram remembering this started laughing and this scared everybody .
"Shri Ram"....."Prabhu"...Vibhishana's and Angad's words brought him back to reality where Laksh was lying half dead in his lap.
Smiling and wiping his tears ram continued," Now, I remembered what it is! Nothing has happened to him...you were right Angad...he is sleeping...yes he is just sleeping ..all these fourteen years, he spent nights protecting me..but at last he is a kid only na! So yes, he just wanted to sleep in his bhaiya's lap just the way he used to do in Gurukul. "
Ram gently lifted his unconscious body towards him n placed a kiss on his forehead. He totally out of senses started humming the lullaby...constantly holding his cold body close to his heart.
"Kyu tu rutha, kisse rutha...kya hai chhuta tera desh me..ho...kyu tu hoye yu bechain rey..ho..jo bhi hai rukha sukha man me vo bolo to..kholo raahe baato ki..baate ho..." Ram choked
"Laksh, wake up my brother...please wake up! Now it's enough....your bhaiya is calling you! You have never ever disrespected my command..then why are u doing this to me now! I know i have failed as an elder brother...i couldn't protect you...but don't punish me like this Lakhan! Lakshman's body was getting colder with each moment passing.His heart slowing, breathing too calm and skin paling as his life was slowly, gently, drained from his body like the crimson red blood which was pooling around him. The Lakshman who used to speak without even asking today wasn't uttering a single word. Ram was breaking apart..
"Laksh you said you won't let me cry..won't let me suffer..see, today your bhaiya is crying..is calling you..please..please open your eyes. Urmi is waiting for you from past fourteen years...what will i tell her when she will ask about you?? That in the fire trail of protecting my wife I burnt your husband ? huh??
