THEODORE

"DID YOU KNOW that's what the problem was, Malfoy?" Theodore's brows furrowed with a mix of confusion and concern as he confronted Draco in the Slytherin common room after dinner when no one was around, seeking clarity about the events during the train ride.

Draco, reclining in an armchair, met Theodore's gaze with weariness evident in his eyes. "It doesn't matter, Theo."

Theodore's expression hardened. "It does matter. I thought she despised me just because her ego was hurt for staying mates with you." He paused, his gaze unwavering as he locked eyes with Draco. "I can't let her think that I chose you over her. We both know that's not what happened."

Draco sighed. "You're not telling her, you promised me you wouldn't. We ought to keep it that way."

Theodore leaned forward, determination etched in his features. "I know," he began, "but can't we just make amends with her? She's got other things going on."

Draco shook his head, a touch of reluctance colouring his voice. "I'm not offering her an apology if you're thinking of that," he said firmly.

"What? Why not?" Theodore questioned, his confusion evident.

"If you want to be best mates with her again, be my guest, I won't be doing that," Draco asserted as he went on with his homework.

"Can you at least tell me why?" Theodore inquired curiously. Why wouldn't he apologise?

"Because she's up to something, and I need to think ahead," Draco explained, his eyes not leaving the parchment in front of him.

Theodore couldn't suppress an eye roll. "Why do you have to be such a drama queen."

      ROXANNE

"WHY DOES HE want to speak with you?" Potter asked Roxanne with annoyance — not understanding what could be so important that Professor Lupin would want to speak to Roxanne about.

"Who wouldn't want to speak with me?" Roxanne smirked, her expression illuminated by the light.

"I wouldn't," Potter asserted.

"And then again, no one cares about what you want," Roxanne replied nonchalantly.

"Whatever," Potter retorted with an eye roll.

"Just go already, I do not have all the time in the world," Roxanne said, even though Potter was already ascending the stairs. The soft echoes of their footsteps resonated in the stillness.
