You knew didn't you?
You knew that our parents
were friends and that
your father betrayed
mine

Surprise, surprise,
someone took their
time to finally figure
it out

THE EVENING OF thirty July was rainy, dark and unexpected. Roxanne was surprised, confused and — a bit cheerful when the Minister of Magic came by the Malfoy Manor to inform the family that Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban. He was the first one to ever break out of Azkaban — and Roxanne deep down felt as if her wishes came true, as if she had manifested her thoughts of being reunited with her father.

She was aware that it was wrong to feel positive about an escape of a mass murderer — even if that man was her father. But she couldn't help it — she couldn't help but feel a tad of joy at the thought of meeting him after twelve years. She didn't even want to think about the fact that he could've been after her, that she was probably in danger. Or how she always felt and believed that he had abandoned her. All she was thinking about was her seeing her father again.

Until, a few seconds later, the minister informed her that he most likely hadn't escaped for her — that she was safe and didn't have to worry about him. Her heart sank and honestly — she felt so stupid that she thought that he would've come back for her.

It had always been about Harry Potter, the boy who lived — the boy that she shared an infant bed with when she was a baby. Though Potter didn't know anything about their parents being mates, Roxanne knew all about their little friend group and how tragic it all ended.

She knew that her fathers' escape would be all over the daily prophet in a day and would be the only talk in the wizarding world — and perhaps even in the muggle world. She would get scowled at and talked about. People would blame her for it as if that would make the situation any better. She knew what she could expect.

And she was absolutely right.

The first of September 1993 was the beginning of her hell.
