The Dinner

Dad decided to postpone the Dinner to today,  he was so upset with me for not showing up to my brother's anniversary,  I woke up so late,  for the first time I slept like a baby , talking to Alvin really lifted the heavy burden I was carrying around and I also appreciated the company of K , Remembering the good time Alvin and I had really did the trick,  I came home so late last night and that also earned me an  argument with Dad .

I had gone to the kids to spend time with them , they too were going through various emotions due to Noelle's anniversary , am happy most of them handled it well .After taking a shower I went downstairs ,found my family having breakfast decided to jion them , Good Morning My Wonderful Family ?They all looked at me like I was  crazy . What's so good about this morning? Dad asked eying me .

I knew he was still mad , Morning Darling hope you slept well ? Mom asked . I Slept like a baby that earned me dagger eyes from Dad. Morning Bro , you look happy , what's up ? Well it happens to be a beautiful morning and everyone I love is safe . With that I drunk my tea quietly they kept glancing at me especially with my humming,  Naked by Jame Arthur,  Got done with breakfast wished them a good day and I was ready to go ,Then Dad stopped me .

I hope you remember we have dinner tonight? I meet his gaze , Wouldn't miss it , Well am just reminding you since you alway have other important obligations than this family . Am in such a good mood I won't let him ruin it . Two things making me this happy , am seeing Ivan today and K is coming for dinner .

Happened to arrive at the office earlier and to my surprise I had no work to do . K walked in with some files and my smile flipped,  thought the gods we giving me a break , wow! That's the greeting I get ? I didn't... Relax I was just joking  she says  that laughing . She places them on my desk and we completely ignored them . So you ready for dinner? I asked her . If ready means I can't cancel it because your Dad will slaughter me alive , then yes am ready. 

I laughed at that , Ooh don't even dare take that from me . She stared at me for a while . What ? I ask . Don't know ... you look different,  she says . I feel different and for the first time everything is working out in my life . In other words I feel lucky. Are you ready to witness my family in action ? He asks laughing . Well you guys can't be worse than my family. 

It always starts as a lovely dinner ends as an earthquake.  Let's just say Michelle and Alex  never disappoint.  Speaking of Michelle she willingly offered to be my designer, so with that dinner is a must , you wouldn't want to end up on her bad side, that girl can give you hell. What ?? Michelle she's such a sweet and beautiful girl . Well you haven't lived your whole life with her .

We busted with laughters. Am really excited to get to know my very soon to be In-Laws . When she said that reality hit hard , we are getting married three weeks from now and that Jack is coming back into her life . My mood changed instantly,  Hey thought we are having a good time , what's with the long face ? I forgot how fast time is going , soon it will be your Birthday which also happens to be our engagement made official and then it will be our wedding.

Yeah , wait is that a bad thing to you ? She asks  that staring at me intensely.  Absolutely not , I saw her smile at that . Okay I better get going and leave you to this . See you at the dinner with one last smile she was gone .I went home early since I needed to get ready and also needed to go for Ivan . Found Mom busy with the servants arranging for the dinner .

Your home early? She eyed me . I just don't want to argue with your husband,  Said that giving her a kiss. If that's the case you better go and get dressed.  I left her laughing at me and went to do as instructed.  Took a shower , got dressed and was ready to leave when Larry showed up asking for help with his tie, I alway enjoy doing things like this for him .

So, happy your girlfriend is coming ? What , he literally got shocked on his saliva.  Laura isn't my girlfriend.  So what do you call a girl who has you blushing like this and one you won't stop talking about .He had a confused look on , but he knew I was right .Okay , my girlfriend is coming and am so happy . See ,doesn't that feel better , calling her your girlfriend? I asked him . It feels damn good .

Just arrived with Ivan , I had called K and asked her if she wanted me to pick her up but she politely refused , Walking in my house felt foreign it had this magnificent decoration,  Mom  gets cought up with decoration have urged her a million times to jion the industry but she always have an excuse . If it weren't about us ,it was always about Dad in a way we all contributed in her giving up her dreams .

Walking in the dinning area I was shocked it looked magnificent,  but only my family were there . Arrived early or late ? Mom looked at me walked towards us and carried Ivan , We decided to make it more of  a family dinner nothing big . Hey sweetie,  Grandma has missed you so much . I missed you more Grandma and I also have lots of gifts for you back home .Ooh is that so , you didn't bring any gifts for your Grandpa .

Ivan literally run to him and hugged him tight , Of course I brought something for you too . How about me ,Champ? Larry asked. Uncle, he hugged him too . I brought gifts for everyone.  I take a sit from the three seats that were empty and Ivan the other.  The only seat left was for K , who joined us minutes later apologysing for her lateness .

When my eyes landed on her,  I was barely able to breathe, the whole world stopped for a moment,  I had completely forgotten how the whole breathing process works . She is  dressed in this beautiful strapless dress paired with heels , her beautiful hair rested perfectly on her back and her Crown placed perfectly on her hair. She has  light makeup on but damn ,she is out of this world . I can't explain it to you guys how beautiful she looks . Victorious Secret Model should feel a shamed to even call themselves beautiful. I didn't realise everyone was looking at me until Larry kicked me .

They all eyed me then her, ooh ,am sorry standing up and walking  to her , I love you , I love you , I love you , that's the only thing my mind kept singing. I kiss her cheeks,  You look...Incredible.  Thank.You , You don't look bad yourself,  We stand there smiling at each other . Until my Dad made sure to remind me guests are always invited for a sit . I walk her to her sit , pushing  it for her ,she mutters her thanks and with that I take a sit next to her .

Ivan cames sitting on my lap , Dad... Is she K ? I saw the confused look K had on , Shit I forgot to mention Ivan to her and you guys so, so sorry .Before I spoke K answered, I believe I am , giving her gorgeous smile . And who is this Handsome fellow am talking to? Am Ivan ,he says it so happily.  It's  a pleasure to meet you Ivan . Ivan turns to look at me ,I like her Dad. I like her too Kiddo .

We share a look , I was so worried she would be upset with me . Then she smiles at me and I knew what that smile meant.  Don't worry am not that upset and we will talk about it later. Mom cleared her throat and we both looked at her . Dinner will be served in a minute.  Dinner was amazing I got to try out all Mrs. Hannah's specialties and they were to die for , I made her promise she would share with me some of the recipes.

Larry and Laura kept throwing glances at one another ,The glances were beautiful,  Ivan kept asking me various questions he even left his Dad lap and was now  sitting on mine. He did look a lot like Noel , Same smile,  eyes and definitely his personality.  Is it bad I was hurt he didn't ever mention Ivan to me .Noel at some point holds my hands and whispers how sorry he was .

You should have seen him , I don't think I have ever seen him this guilty. Dad, Dad, Dad ... Yes Son what do you want ? I want more Ice cream, Please Dad . Ain't going to happen,  you have had three scoops you may end up sick . Dad please,  he pleads with his Dad.Would  you stop calling him that , Frank out of nowhere says. He seemed annoyed,  His not your father ...Alvin is ,he held Alvin's picture inches away from Ivan .

Ivan was so scared and with that he started crying his little eyes out .He run to the one person he loved most and felt protected ,Noel . Larry would you please take Ivan outside for a while , he said it so coldly chills run down my spine.

Ooh Frank just unleashed a beast, is a Father-Son bond only meant for biological fathers?
