The flight to Daniel's hometown is about two hours, not too long. But flying is something I've never particularly enjoyed. I'm too restless and I hate sitting in one place for too long. I like to be on my feet, walking about. The flight is excruciatingly long for me though, because I keep replaying my conversation with Zyon over and over again. I can't seem to figure out why he was even there. What if Alpha Amor and him are drawing some sort of alliance? That would mean he would be at our pack occasionally and honestly I just couldn't handle too many run ins with him. He's all I think about for the next week after I see him.

As I make my way out of the airport, I see Daniel waiting for me with a bouquet of pink roses. I feel so relieved to see him, that's sharply contrasted with all the anxiety I feel when I see Zyon. I rush into his arms, practically throwing myself at him. "Wow, someone missed me."

"You have no idea, babe." I say before planting my lips on his for a quick peck. Public displays of affection isn't something I'm too comfortable with.

We head towards the exit, as he fills me in on what his parents are planning for their anniversary celebration. It's next week so they want to head a little up north, it's not too far from where we currently live. Maybe an hour's drive at most. Close to Zyon's pack though. Man, I hate myself for dragging thoughts of him into everything.

"That sounds great. I'll have to take a week off from work, but don't think that should really be much of a problem."

"Yeah, I figured. You haven't taken time off for a while so I'm sure Amor won't mind giving you a break."

We drive into a large gate, that is the entrance to Daniel's parent's house. His parents are pretty well-off and live in a huge mansion type house, with enough rooms for the whole family and their respective children. Daniel's brothers, Dominic and Dylan, each have two children with their spouses Lily and Emily. They're all pretty well-settled. As we enter the house, the smell of a home-cooked meal wafts into my nose and my mouth begins to water. Daniel's mom's cooking is unbeatable. I run into the kitchen and hug his mom from behind. "Oh my gosh. That is the best smell ever. I've missed you so much! How are you?"

"Kat, welcome home! We have missed you. You're finally here. We were so sad when you didn't show up with Daniel yesterday."

"I know. I'm sorry, a last minute thing with work came up."

"Oh god! You and your work! You really overwork yourself. You need to take better care of yourself. Look at how thin you've become. Go say hi to Dominic and Dylan, while I get this food onto the table for lunch."

"Alrighty, sounds great!"

I head to find Dylan, Dominic, Lily and Emily, each of whom meet me so warmly. It's like these guys are a pack of their own- my human pack. Replacement for my werewolf pack. As we sit around the table, cracking jokes and poking fun at one another, I feel an insane amount of love for each person at the table and I know they're irreplaceable for me. There is nothing I wouldn't do for them.

"So in order to celebrate our anniversary, fifty years of marriage, we have booked out two large cabins in the North. Daniel and Kat live nearby so I figure they would know the area a bit. All of you are required to come, no excuses of work will be accepted." Daniel's father pauses, and all eyes on the table turn to me.

"He means you, Kat." Dominic teases.

"Oh come on guys! I'm not that baaaad." I whine.

"You really really are." Dylan retorts. "But on the bright side, atleast now we know you aren't coming because of work and not because you have your guard up."
