Chapter 13

~Callie's POV~
I'm at Kalli's house studying for our math test. I'm pretty good at math... but Kalli on the other hand is not. I don't mean it in a bad way... she just struggles in math.

"Hey Callie?" Kalli asked.

"Ya?" I answered.

"Do you think Matthew likes me?" She asked.

"I don't know... Maybe." I told her.

"I hope he does..." she mumbled.

"Kalli... focus!" I yelled. She really needs to get this... I don't want her to fail. We studied for about another 20 minuets. Until Kalli stood up again. Ugh! What now.

"Callie... do you hear my parents..." she whispered. Her parents fight a lot. And now that she mentioned I do hear them.

"You WHAT!!!" Her mom yelled.

"I was just talking to her!!" Her dad yelled.

"Oh ya... so now kissing is called talking?!" Her mom Screamed.

"Oh sure! Why don't you believe me?!!" Her dad screamed.

"Because I saw it with my own eyes Jonathan!! And if you really want to be with her... just leave!" She said... her voice was cracking. I looked at Kalli and she was crying. I went over and hugged her.

"FINE!! I WILL LEAVE!!!" He screamed... then the door slammed. Omg... I feel really bad for Kalli. She loves her dad so much.

"Come on... let's go walk." I told Kalli. I'm afraid she will hear something else. I grabbed her hand and led her outside.

Her mom saw us but I didn't stop. We walked for 20 minuets and we didn't say one word. Kalli didn't stop crying either.

A little ways down the sidewalk I saw someone walking towards us. Matthew.

"Hey!" He yelled when he saw us. "Oh my gosh... Kalli what's wrong!" He asked. I shook my head. I think he got the memo because he nodded and hugged her. Well then.

"It will be ok..." Matthew whispered to her... over and over. She was flat out bawling now. I feel so bad for her.

"Hey Matt, can you stay with her? I have to go." I whispered. He nodded. I mouthed the word thanks and walked away.

~Kalli's POV~
I can't believe my dad left. I'm still crying into Matthew. He keeps telling me that it will get better... and right here with him... I believe it.

"Hey, do you want to tell me what's going on?" He asked. I nodded. "Ok... do you want to go to your house?" I shook my head. "Park?" He asked. I nodded.

"Thanks." I mumbled.

"Hey, no problem." Matt said. He's so sweet.

When we got to the park we sat on a bench and I looked right at him.

"Ok... so my parents fight... a lot." I started, a few tears ran down my face, "and tonight Callie and I were studying and... they started fighting. But this time was worse... my dad left." I finished hanging my head.

"Oh..." Matt said. I was crying again. "Hey, look at me. Any man that leaves you is stupid. You are beautiful and perfect and if your dad couldn't see that then he is stupid."

I smiled. "You think I'm beautiful?"

"Um... ya... Ya I do think your beautiful!" He yelled and I laughed. "Why are you laughing?"

"Because you think I'm beautiful... and you yelled it really loud..." I laughed again.

"Oh... Well can I walk you home beautiful?" He asked.

"Ya... Thanks." I smiled. Matthew thinks I'm beautiful... MATTHEW THINKS IM BEAUTIFUL!!
