Chapter 21 - They didn't do it

3 days later (Monday 8.15 am)

Olivia's POV:

For the past couple of days, Dad and I have kind of been talking but I can see that he is still pissed that I left school when he told me not to and he is mad that he didn't know where I was Friday night because Nick and I ended up falling asleep in our secret garden. Dad stayed the night at the hospital and I told him I was at home with Ava all night but I could tell he didn't believe me.

Max is alright, apparently Mia pushed him down the stairs and kicked him very hard in the ribs so he has a broken arm and a couple broken ribs but he is home now.

But now I am getting ready for school, I am fully dressed, I am wearing a black mid thigh dress that covers my shoulders because they aren't allowed to be shown at school with black ankle boots. I have done my hair and makeup and now Ava and I are down stairs just eating some toast listening to the news before Ava and I leave, Dad has left to drop Lily and Mac off but he is working from home so he can keep an eye on Max.

"Two teenage girls have been found murdered around about 10 pm Saturday night at the Inwood Hill Park in New York City. The girls parents say that both the girls went missing Friday night with no explanation of where they were heading or who they were with. Forensics say that the girls were stabbed 29 times each. There are a few suspects that will be questioned today but if there are any information that you know of, please go to your local police station" The news presenter says as I look at Ava and just thinking of where they were found, the park that Nick and I were on Friday night.

"Shit, who could do such a thing" Ava says as she picks up her plate and takes it to the sink.

"That is just sad" I say feeling so bad for these girls. I pick up my plate and take it to the sink.

"Let's go or we will be late for school" Ava says as we both grab our school bags and we head to the front door.

Ava grabs her car keys and we walk out of the house and to her car. We hop in and she starts driving to the school.

15 minutes later

Ava parks the car in the school parking lot and we both hop out with our bags on our backs. We walk into the school and we start walking towards our lockers.

As we are walking, I notice Nick walking towards us talking on the phone. As we are just about to walk past him, he notices us and stands in front of us making us stop.

"I need to talk to both of you" He whispers as he moves the phone away from his mouth and points to his office.

He starts walking to his office and we follow.

"Why would he want to talk to both of us" Ava says as we walk into his office and I shut the door behind us.

"Thank you for letting me know, I am so sorry to hear about that.....take care....... goodbye" I hear Nick reply on the phone while Ava and I look at each other.

"What's wrong, you look upset" I say as he puts his phone in his pocket and I look at his face and he looks like he has just gotten some bad news.

"Did you guys hear about the two teenagers that were found murdered" Nick asks us.

"Yeah, why" Ava asks.

"Well that was Mia's mother, the two teenagers were Emma and Mia" Nick says as the bell for homeroom goes.

*Ding Ding*

"What, their both dead" Ava asks as Nick nods his head.

"No, they can't be" I say in shock.
