SILENCE AND SOUND | CHAPTER 19
"You ready, babe?" Harry questioned with his eyes cast on the bathroom door and Louis muttered a small 'yeah' from the bathroom, making Harry smile giddily. Harry loved Louis even before he heard his voice, but that didn't mean it didn't make Harry love his boy even more when he did hear it. He loved Louis' voice. It was so beautiful, it was still a little raspier than he claimed he had when he was little, but Harry didn't mind. It was so incredibly sexy and still, so soft and smooth at the same time.
"What're you smiling on and on about, love?" the boy in question said as he walked out of the bathroom in a simple, but slightly oversized red hoodie and black jeans.
"Your voice." Harry said with a sigh when Louis kissed him and put his arms around Harry's neck to beckon their lips together. "Babe?" he muttered in between the kiss and Louis only hummed in response.
"Hoodie and jeans again?" The taller boy questioned softly at his outfit choices. He didn't have a problem with it. Harry actually loved Louis' sweater paws and he loved how he seemed to drown in the hoodie, but it was still a tad bit under-dressed for a New Year party.
"I don't want to dress up." He groaned in frustration and rest his head on Harry's shoulder with a dramatic sigh, making the latter laugh and pull Louis closer by his waist.
"Okay, you don't have to. It's alright, you still look hot as fuck."
"But now I am nervous about going in these clothes, Harry!"
"You don't have to be, it's just a school party, love. Besides, it's at Zayn's place so there won't be too many people from our school."
"Alright, but what if they make fun of me?"
"Well, I'm here to stand up for you, aren't I? I am not letting anybody throw taunts at my precious boy." Harry consoled him with a kiss on his nose as they headed out of Louis' place. He knew that Louis wasn't comfortable with using his voice again in front of anyone but his family and of course, Harry; and the boy was completely okay with that. It was Louis' voice, after all. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you nervous. You look great, love. Like a proper angel. My angel."
"Ugh, you're so cheesy sometimes, Haz."
"Don't pretend as if you don't like it."
"You're right. I hate it." Louis said in a challenging tone as he settled into the passenger seat and Harry ran to the driver's seat before pulling Louis in for a kiss and taking hold of his hand as he started up the car.
"Deal with it, love."
The pair drove to Zayn's place in silence, the car filled with the songs playing on the radio and the two boys humming along to the tunes. Louis did, however, feel guilty about earlier and kissed Harry's hand that was currently entwined in his, making Harry smile.
"I don't hate it." he said in a bare whisper, making the pair smile giddily.
When they did reach Zayn's place though, Harry was proven wrong about the number of people at the party. The place was buzzing with people and alcohol and music and it was a far cry from the 'small, sophisticated party' Zayn had described earlier that week.
"There are so many people." Louis whispered as he hid behind Harry's shoulder and gripped at his muscular arm in fear. He peeked over Harry's shoulder like he was a small child stepping into a house of horrors and Harry smiled a little before bringing his boy by his side and slinging an arm around his shoulder to keep him close.
