"Hello. I'm Deanna Monroe" A blonde woman walked into the room and stopped by the couch. She was wearing a clean light blue button up with jeans.

"Marie Anderson" The Brunet that was looking out window said. Her clothes were covered in dirt and blood.

"You mind if I film this?" Deanna asked as she looked at the woman.

"What?" Marie turned to look at her.

"Do you mind if I film our talk"

"Go head" Marie shrugged and looked out the window again.

Deanna move to set up the camera to record.

"Why film this?" Marie asked without turning around. She saw a church outside the window and looked at it.

"We're about transparency here" Deanna explained. Marie turned around and looked at her, slowly walking behind a chair.

"Please" Deanna nodded towards the chair. Marie awkwardly sat down on the chair. It had been a long time since she had been inside a home and was able to relax.

"How long have you been out there?" Deanna asked first as Marie looked around the room.

"Since the beginning" Marie answered.

"How did you find each other?" Deanna sat down next to the camera "did you know each other before or-"

"We didn't know each other before" Marie glared at her. They both sat in silence, Marie wasn't gonna start the conversation first. Deanna had to break the silence.

"I was a congress person, ohio, 15th district. You?" Deanna asked Marie, who was looking straight at the camera.

"I don't think it matters anymore" Marie looked at her with a straight face. There was no emotion as she looked as the woman in the room.

"Oh, I know it those" Deanna leaned forward, placing her elbows on her knees.

"What is this place?" Marie tilted her her to a side. Alexandria gave her a bad feeling deep inside.

"This is the start of sustainability" Deanna explained "that is what the brochures we found said. This was a plan community, with its own solar grid, Cisterns echo based sewage filtration "

"Staring in the low 800 thousand" Deanna started laughing "if there is such a thing and they sold them all"

"How did you end up here?" Marie asked Deanna.

"Well my family and I were trying to get back to Ohio so I could help my district manage the crisis and.." Deanna sighed "the army spotted us on a back road and directed us here. They were suppose to come later, they didn't. But there were supplies here and we made the best of it."

"You put up the wall?" Marie asked and looked outside the window to the wall that was outside.

"Well there was this huge shopping mall being built nearby" Deanna crossed her leg and looked at Marie in the eyes "and my husband Reg is a professor of architecture. And who he was mattered quite a bit. He got the first plates up with our sons. and after a few weeks more people arrived and we had help. We had a community"

"You've been behind these walls this entire time?" Marie asked in disbelief.

"We need people who have lived out there" Deanna moved up from her seat in the couch "you're group is the first we've even considered taking in for a long time"

"You should keep your gates closed" Marie looked back at Deanna.

"Why?"

"Because it all about survival now. At any costs, people out there are always looking for an angle" Marie said with out blinking her eyes. All she could think about was the governor and Gareth "Looking to play on your weakness. They measure you, by what they can take from you. By how they can use you to live. So bringing people into a place like this now-"

"Are you telling me not to let your people in?" Deanna smiled a bit "are you already looking after this place? Aaron says I can trust you"

"Aaron doesn't know me" Marie laughed bitterly "I've killed people. I don't even know how many, but now. But I know why they're all dead. They're dead so my family, all those people out there can be alive."

"Sounds like I would like to be part of your family" Deanna looked at her, She was trying to read her "we've lost people. I've done things.." Deanna looked down at her hands

"What have you done?" Marie stared intently at her.

"I exile three men who didn't work out and we both know that's as good as killing them"

"What do you want from us?" Marie stood up, giving Deanna a cold glare.

Deanna stood up and walked next to her "these families... these families should be able to raise their children in a safe environment. Carl and Judith should have a place to grow up. What do I want? " Deanna took a step closer to her "I want you to help us survive, I know you can help us do that"

"How?" Marie placed her hands on her hips.

"I'm exceptionally good at reading people" Deanna lifted her chin to look up at Marie "if I didn't win the election I was gonna be a professional poker player" Marie gave a tiny laugh "I'm not kidding. Are you skeptical? You have a right to be, but it's time to decide."

"I was a nurse.." Marie mumbled, only her group knew.

"Yeah, I knew it was something like that" Deanna smiled "it's good that your staying"

"I never said I was going to stay" Marie glared at her, her eyes were cold. Not a single flash of emotion sparking through them.

"You would be wiling to leave your group behind" Deanna raised an eyebrow at her "your family? your friends? Daryl?"

"They're safe that's all that matters" Marie shrugged her shoulders.

"You're right," Deanna nodded and looked intently at Marie "they're safe. They can start a new life... without you"

Marie looked out the window. She knew that if she left the group would continue without her.

"Think about it.." Deanna turned around "you might like it here"
