The streets surrounding Heavens Arena were less than full, your only company being the few citizens visiting the market in the early hours of the morning. You finally had time to yourself.

The sun was reaching into the sky now, bathing the streets and your skin in golden light. The leaves sparkled green and rustled with gentle breezes, mimicking the movement of cloth sails above their market booths.

Footsteps clicking on the street, you allowed yourself to stop at the different booths, greeting each merchant and taking time to admire and compliment their work. Some of them were quiet, doing nothing much more than a brief explanation of their work, while others were happy to stay and chat, bringing up a smile after each sentence.

"Oy! Y/N!"

You turned to see Killua waving at you with one arm a far way down the street.

"Good morning, Killua!" you waved back at him as he ran to meet up with you.

"You're up surprisingly early," he commented, placing his hands behind his head in a stretch.

"I had a fight in the arena early this morning, but I decided to wander the streets afterward. Where's Gon?"

"He's passed out in our room, I think he exhausted himself after all the travel," he shrugged in response.

You smiled, the sun was rising, the weather wasn't overbearing, and you finally had the chance to spend time with your friend away from Hisoka and Illumi.

"You really need some new clothing, Y/N, you can't keep wearing my brother's boring grey clothes," Killua scoffed.

Looking over yourself, you wondered if you would ever be able to return Illumi's clothes. Despite how relieving it felt to be away, you felt a pull to hold onto him.

Hesitating, you nodded, "You're right. Do you think there's a clothing booth around here?"

"No, no, you don't want to shop the clothing booths here, they'll try to scam you for money. The better places to visit are the upscale stores closer to the arena."

"What's wrong with the booths on the streets? I haven't seen any merchants attempting to scam anyone around here..."

"The booths closest to the arena usually keep it clean, but there are more booths that take over the streets and scam tourists for money."

You turned on your heel and stared up at the Heavens Arena, staring at the gleam of the many windows of its exterior. You basked in the sunlight and nudged Killua beside you.

"Are you glad to be away from your family?"

He paused and looked to the ground before answering, "Yeah, I am. Gon's the only friend I've ever had."

"You know he looks up to you," you smiled.

"Does he really?" Killua looked back up at you in anticipation.

"I think he really does, Killua."

You ruffled his hair and laughed, trying your best to lighten his mood. While Killua was young and shining with opportunity, you knew you couldn't stick around too long. There were too many things back home that needed to be resolved.

"We should head back to the arena, Gon should be up soon, and I suspect I have some business to deal with," you sighed.

Killua wasn't the best at small talk, but he managed to joke around with you until the two of you made it back to the lobby of the Heavens Arena.

The lobby was surprisingly full for an early morning, the counter bustling with people waiting in line to be admitted into the arena. Many of them wouldn't make it past the first floor, but the staff members were always welcoming.
