The island felt small. You hadn't scoured the entire landscape yet, but you had covered a very large amount of land. Hisoka had been gone for at least a day, and you hadn't seen Killua since your last encounter. Your footsteps were silent as you waded through the main river, pushing bubbled shapes of your aura into the air around you.

"Two badges down, two more to go..." you whispered to yourself.

The wind blew moderately through the forest surrounding you, picking up abandoned leaves and dropping them off farther along its path. You used Gyo and looked around. Hisoka's aura was still stuck onto your thigh, its trail leading off somewhere on the island. You sighed.

"Maybe I should go find him," you said to yourself.

"Go find who?"

You turned to find yourself facing Gon.

"Oh! Hey Gon!" you stopped in your place in the water and stepped closer to him.

He smiled at you and waved, "Hey Y/N!"

"How's the island hunting been going?" you asked him, trying to get rid of your aura so he wouldn't ask about it.

"Hehe... Not amazingly well, but I'm making progress!" he nodded.

"Why not amazing?"

"Well... I have Hisoka as my target..." he looked down at the grass.

You stiffened. You couldn't help this boy. Yet you couldn't leave him on his own.

"That will be extremely difficult." you deadpanned, not looking up at him.

"I know," he replied looking back up at you, "maybe you could help me?"

"I will only tell you one thing... the easiest way to catch your prey is to attack when it is hunting itself. You must track him and attack only when the time is right..."

"What does that mean?"

"You will see. And with that, I must be taking my leave," you disappeared from the area.

You felt bad for leaving Gon, but you couldn't risk your alliance with Hisoka and Illumi over a boy several years younger than you. From what you could tell, he had no knowledge of Nen, which would've made it even riskier. The best you could do was hope he would survive, even if he had to re-take the Hunter Exam next year, it would be better than dying at the hands of Hisoka. Speaking of the magician, you figured it was about to pay him a visit.

Turning in the direction of the pink substance, you started to follow Hisoka's aura, hoping it would lead you to him. You couldn't ask for Illumi's help in navigation, so you put one foot in front of the other and walked into the depths of the forest.

Three days had passed since the start of the Fourth Phase. Four days seemed like a long time to capture two more badges, but time could be easily deceiving. You kept following the aura attached to your leg until the scent of blood reached your nose.

"Hisoka?" you called into the clearing you had reached.

A whoosh of air filled your senses as you heard leaves rustling nearby. As a hand touched the back of your neck, you reached towards their arm and turned around at lightning speed, facing the person behind you as you flipped out of their hands and engulfed them in your aura.

"Miss me?" he smirked at you.

"That's what you said last time," you rolled your eyes before meeting his golden hues.
