It was 9 am the next morning, the only one up is Joanna, since everyone had a long night
She was about to walk up the stairs when she heard a knock at the front door
When she opened it she immediately became angry "No, Get off my property"
Tommy looked around "Joanna I-"
Joanna stepped out side and closed the front door behind her, not wanting to wake Wendy "No, You think you can freely come to my home after what you did last night" she scowled
Tommy looked at her madly confused "Joanna hear me out please" he paused to see if she would stop him, she didnt "I have no clue what your talling about, all I know Is that I woke up in the back alley of the Bent Elbow this morning"
Joanna could tell that he seemed completely distraught, she sighs heavily still not giving in "You cheated on Wendy last night, were you so drunk that you cant remember"
Tommy closed his eyes tight, getting flustered at the fact that Joanna didnt belive him "I would NEVER! cheat on Wendy, I love her, I am 5elling you that the only thing I remember from last night is walking outta the house, and Wendy walking out of the bar last night, then I somehow ended up behind the bar with this sharp pain in my neck"
Joannas eyebrowed furrowed, "Tommy, just-" she she tured around for a second looking at the house then back at him "Calm down okay, why dont you sit down in the garden, illeet you there in a moment"
With that said she goes inside and grabs Truth root to put in the tea shes making for him, once shes done making the tea for them she gose out side to find Tommy sitting at the table in the garden with his head in his hands
"Tommy" Joanna says as she sits down, handing him the cup with truth root in it
He takes a sip
"I need you to tell me everything that happened yesterday" she said once she knew the truth root started working
Tommy sighs "Well yesterday I was supposed to go golfing with some of my buddys from work, I wasn't going to go but Wendy insisted. So around 6 O'clock I walked outta the house and" he sighs
"What?" Joanna says
"It went black" he takes another sip "I dont even remember getting in the car and drivjng myself there, the next thing I know Is im getting a bottle of whiskey poured over my head and Wendy telling me that I broke her heart" his voice crackes saying the last part "after that it got really blurry my ears were ringing, Next thing I remember is waking up in the alley with a stabbing pain in my neck" he sighs trying not to cry infront of Joanna "I would never hurt Wendy purposely, let alone cheat on her-" His voice becomes shaky "You gotta belive me"
Joanna is left with her mouth wide open. He couldn't have been lying she spelled him so everything he said was the truth "Tommy I believe you" she looks down at his cup to see that its all but gone "I just dont understand how you lost consciousness for the entire night"
She thinks for a moment "Did you drink at all yesterday, before you left?"
Tommy shakes his head "No not at all"
A light bulb went off in Joanna head. She waved her hand above the table and says "videtur", and the family spell book appears
She flips threw pages
Tommy looks at her in confusion
She finds what she was looking for, the Elipcies page, Shes been studying it since it happened and something Tommy had told her made her think of somthing
"Tommy, you said you had a sharp pain in your neck?"
"Yeah why?"
She traces her finger over the text "Well The elipcies . . . The creature thats been attacking us"
He nodds
"Well I found that he is able to take over the body and mind, victims of this act have been found to have a thorn lodged in somewhere on there body" she says standing up and walking towards him
His eyes follow her "Ive been scratching at it though and there was no thorn"
She goes behind him and sees an open wound, "this may hurt" she starts digging into his skin,
Tommy starts squirming and making weird noises at the pain
She finally gets ahold of somthing "Almost got it" she pulls it out "there"
Tommy grabs the back of his neck "Mother f'er" he says in agony
She holds her hand above his neck "Sauna sauna" and the wound heals
Joanna holds up what she found "Well" she sighs
Tommys eyes lock with hers "ill be dammed" he says in shock
Joanna looks down at the thorn "I guess we know what happened"
