Kitty POV: I wake up crying. Another nightmare. Just perfect. Then a lamp snaps on and Anna is holding me.
"Hey. Hey it's okay. It wasn't real" she says softly as I cry into her chest. I could feel her rubbing my back and try to calm down. And then she starts singing the lullaby. I burrow into her chest more and sigh softly.
"There we go. You're safe liebling" she whispers, kissing the top of my head and gently wiping my tears away with her thumb.
"Can we just go get snacks tomorrow and stay here? I don't feel like doing anything" I mumble and Anna rubs my back.
"Sure thing liebling" I start to relax and fall asleep again.
The next morning
Anna POV: I keep an arm around Kitty's shoulders as we walk out of the hotel after breakfast. There was a shopping centre nearby so that's where we were going. We get there and I plop her into the cart as we go around picking up snacks and drinks. She was still a bit shaky so I'd given her my jacket. We get what we need, pay and start walking back. It doesn't take long for some guy to stop us and try to hit on Kitty.
"Well hello gorgeous why don't you ditch her and come back to my place?"
"Hey. Leave her alone"
"Why should I? She your girlfriend or something?"
"She is actually" I put an arm around Kitty and we walk away before he can say anything. I get her to our room quickly and she just breaks down. I put the bag of snacks aside and sit her down on the bed, hugging her and rubbing her back. She tenses up so I let go and she buries her face in a pillow.
"Hey. Hey it's okay you're safe. I won't let anyone hurt you" a couple of minutes pass when suddenly she shifts so she's lying with her head on my lap.
"Anna?"
"Right here liebling" she smiles a little
"Thank you"
"For what?"
"Standing up to him. Recognising that being held didn't feel comfortable for me by just body language alone"
"Hey. I'll do everything I can to help you feel comfortable babes. I love you"
"I love you too Anna" she says softly, smiling up at me. That was a smile I'd never tire of seeing. A smile I wanted to see for the rest of this lifetime. My favourite smile. The smile of my one true love.
