A/N: This chapter is dedicated to all Filipino pageant fans ❤️
Sana mapangiti and mapasaya ko kayo with snippets of Pinoy pageant trivia in this chapter.

"A little more finesse sa arms, yung pag swing ng shoulders should be effortless,"
I was at Empire studios the whole afternoon to begin my first pasarela training of the year. This time we're doubling our efforts when it comes to preparation especially since the pageant is getting closer.
To be honest my feet were already aching. I'm wearing Bragais pageant heels for what seem like four hours already. But laban lang! Itong hirap and sacrifices kaya ko naman tiisin. Lalaban ako!
These kind of shoes are not for the faint hearted. It's chunky front but slim heels look very intimidating. Well at first I was really scared to walk in it. But as soon as I got to wear one, it gave me that feeling of power and height. It gave me that extra queenly confidence. Yung tipong ang ganda ganda ko.
Mama J was helping me polish my walk together with Ian, my ever lovable runway coach.
"Sige, again from the top," said the queen maker.
I stood tall with my chest out, stomach in and chin up while I strutted the studio's makeshift runway. I moved my arms and shoulders more and swung my hips from left to right with a perfect balance of grace and power this time.
"Glide pa more, Ibyang. Yung ganito," Ian advised as he walked to show what he was referring for me to do.
How to walk like you po ba?
"sa tingin niyo iadjust ko po ba kaya yung roll sa hips?"
I copied Ian's walk with a little twist - swayed my hips more than the usual.
"I think a bit of modification nalang, perhaps let's try to incorporate a Tahitian dance element when it comes to your hip movement", Mama J suggested.
"Total magaling ka naman doon, talent mo yan sa Miss Iloilo eh," he smiled
Memories of my first ever pageant came rushing back to my mind. From the day I joined Miss Iloilo, I knew I wanted to do greater things. To be honest, I was actually targeting for the Miss Iloilo World title, but looks like the universe had a different plan for me. For that pageant, who would've thought that I would bag not just the first ever Miss Iloilo Universe title, but also Miss Smart Communications, Miss Fiesta, Miss Mags and Best in Talent for my Tahitian dance! I want to excel in things I do, that's why I'm taking this pasarela training seriously.
Having a strong pasarela or how a pageant queen walks has become a very important aspect in the world of pageantry. It's more technical and complex than the walk we see in runway models. It's one element in pageantry wherein a candidate can show off who she is to the judges and the audience without speaking. A pasarela is not just a simple pageant walk, it is a combination of posture, style and confidence in movement. It is the queen's own show. For a candidate to make an impact, she needs to have that perfect signature pasarela.
