It was beginning to lighten in the sky when we reached the shoreline. The sounds of mourning filled the air, as well as the names of loved ones being searched for. Immediately, Sigrid and Tilda called out for their father and brother, and Caerwyn looked around, too. However, she couldn't make them out in the large crowd that was steadily forming on the shoreline. "Caerwyn!" Caerwyn turned at the sound of her name to see Fíli, Bombur, Óin, and Kíli pushing the boat they had taken out of Laketown, back into the water. Caerwyn nodded, then turned to Tauriel. "Thank you for helping us," Caerwyn said, smiling.
She nodded, as if unsure what to make of Caerwyn but accepting her gesture all the same.
"My baby! Where's my baby?!" one woman called amongst the rest, her words piercing Caerywn's heart. Searching through the life forms, dead and alive, Caerywn scoured the shore for the woman's child. Centring on a small cry, she followed her senses towards the sound. The wailing gradually grew louder the closer she got. Her eyes ran over a discarded ball of old sheets, the cry sounding within. Racing towards the lump, Caerywn picked up the blankets and pulled it down to reveal the infant's tear-stricken face. Humming a song her mother had taught her, and she had sung to her sisters, she slowly but surely got the young babe to calm down. Quickly walking through the crowd of survivors, Caerywn made her way towards the woman screaming for her baby. Reuniting the crying woman with her baby, Caerywn smiled down at the woman now cradling the child; tears in her eyes. Mutters of thank you and thank goodness left the woman's lips as she held her baby.
With a nod, Caerwyn jogged over to the boat to help get it into the water. But now, Kíli was moving away from the boat and up to Tauriel. Although his brother called him back, the younger prince addressed the Elf. Caerwyn heard another voice, and turned to see Legolas from earlier was back. He addressed Tauriel in Elvish, and Kíli had been about to turn back to join the rest.
However, he went back to give her something before doing so, and the Elf had a peculiar look on her face. "What is this by the way?" Tauriel asked as she slowly took the rock out of his hand, examining it. Caerwyn looked on from a distance and Legolas noticed. "A promise." Kili said and took her hand that held the rock, so they both held if. "My mother gave this ruin to me. It symbolises a promise for me to come back home safe." As Tauriel was about to follow Legolas, Kili stopped her, "Amrâlimê" Tauriel stopped before turning back to the hobbit. "I don't know what that means.." She whispered. "Oh I think you do, my friend Caerywn taught me."
Caerwyn turned back to the boat in case their conversation was meant to be a private one and gave a weak smile to Legolas. "Eca, a mitta lambetya cendelessë orcova." She muttered and she heard someone laugh from beside her. (Go French-kiss an orc) "You really are a jealous little thing aren't you." Legolas laughed now from next to her. "Nátyë necindo" Caerwyn rolled her eyes before her face broke out into a huge smile, "Your right" She sighed as Legolas continued to laugh at her jealousness. (You're insane) "How come you can hide your jealousness?" Caerwyn asked intrigued and the ellon lightly blushed. "I don't know what your talking about?"
"I think you do, I'm a girl I get it. You like Tauriel." Caerwyn whispered as she looked towards Tauriel and Kili who were still talking. "I do not, I happen to like someone else." Legolas responded looking at Caerwyn deep in her eyes. "Then that elleth is very lucky to have you." She smiled back as she heard someone call her name down at the boats. "Nai aurelya nauva mára!" Caerywn heard Legolas say as she smiled. (To good fortune- good luck)
"You saw something out there?" Tauriel questioned Legolas and he was quick to answer. "The Orc I pursued out of Lake-town, I know who he is. Bolg, the spawn of Azog the Defiler. A Wargpack was waiting for him on the outskirts of Esgorath. They fled into the north. These Orcs were different from the others, they bore a mark I had not seen for a long time. The mark of Gundabad." Tauriel looked at him shocked, "Gundabad?" Legolas nodded, "An Orc stronghold in the far north of the Misty Mountains." He described but was interrupted by an Elf arriving on horseback. "My Lord Legolas. I bring word from your Father. You are to return to him immediately." Feren explained. " Come, Tauriel." Legolas held his hand out. "My Lord...Tauriel is banished." Feren added.
