The Squid Sister's Apartment

Marie's pov

"He actually used to live on the streets. Nobody really seemed to care about him, as they mocked and bullied him for his existence. Not many pitied him, as they were quickly turned against him because of the rumours the bullies had spread. People soon got to the point where it was like he never existed. It wasn't even me or Callie that found him. It was, in fact, Agent 3. She was the only one who saw his potential. She was the only one who cared for him. When they left for practice, I sometimes heard people talking about him. Badmouthing him. 'He's a disgrace to the inkling race.' 'I'm so glad that the weeb is gone. I hope he never comes back.' Some people even tried to kill him. He survived every time, but got severe injuries. But...

Even after all that...

He can still put up with it...

He once said, 'I'm used to it. My mom and dad used to neglect me, before throwing me onto the streets. Maybe my grandad abused my dad. Maybe he wanted me to feel his pain.' Those words really angered me. You may see me as the calm and organised Splatoon leader, but once you trigger something inside me, which is not very often, you're not likely to get out of it under a week.

Once he became a full-time Agent of the Squidbeak Splatoon, we went on a mission. I thought it would be easy, but the plan completely backfired. The Octoling menace created a secret weapon. We were meant to destroy it, but boo hoo, the tables turned, and we had to get 7 try to disable it. Only then, Elite Octolings rushed in. He was loyal, and instead of letting the Elites take him to the dungeons, he used the bomb.

The bomb we told him to use only if he was in a situation like- like that.

There was no other way to describe it.

He attached it to himself, knowing that it would destroy  everyone and everything in that building. At that time, me and Callie were in the flying truck Sheldon had given us, and had no idea that there was anything wrong. It was only until he didn't come out for 5 minutes. Then we got anxious. We went closer, just as the bomb exploded, blasting fire everywhere. We assume he's dead, even though w-w-we..."

Callie answered it for me, before immediately bursting into seas of tears.

"We couldn't find his body..."

4 stood there in shock, before recovering her composture.

"How can you be sure he's actually dead?"

"We aren't; but h-he's not likely to be standing, alive, right now..."

"Well then that's what we have to find out."
