○ This one could end up being rather exhausting due to his overprotective nature.
○ I mean, who can blame him? After living for so long and losing a precious friend you would also try to assure the safety of your new-found happiness.
○ You first caught his interest while walking through the streets of Liyue. Even if it has nothing to do with your actual job, you still have quite some knowledge about rare types of plants and gems. You also happen to have the ability to not only atract the attention of the geo archon but also the one of children (but not in that way, no worries). Zhongli first saw you while you were explaining children some if your knowledge about Cor Lapis.
○ Eventhough the information itself wasn't that special, Zhongli still found the way you explained and talked towards the children quite heartwarming.
○ After all of the children left you, he approached you and you had a nice conversation not only about your knowledge. Since he didn't want this to be your last time talking together he asked you whether if you want to meet each other again.
○ And of course you said yes. (I mean who wouldn't want to talk to somebody with such a soothing voice)
○ This, of course, ended up being a mistake.
○ During your time together he did learn a lot about you and I mean a lot. He just had his way of getting his desired information out of you without you even noticing it.
○ Expect a lot of coincidental meetings. He just somehow happens to be where you are at the right time.
○ This is due to him getting more and more worried about your safety. His mind didn't like the thought of you getting robbed or worse.
○ He sees it as his duty as a friend to assure your well-being.
○ His money-spending problem doesn't get better at all with your existance. You mention that you like this necklace? Voilà, it's yours now.
○ As long as you don't become sick or something happens to you, your relationship is actually rather normal out of your perspective. Of course he has his tendencies but he is still able to hide them from you and other people.
○ But if something threatens your well-being things go south really quickly. If you get sick he will take all measurements so that you will get better quickly. He doesn't abandon his job at Whangsheng Funeral but he will be there for you during his freetime. He will try to give you everything you desire as far as his bag of mora allows it. Even after you get better he will try to convince you to rest at home since he fears you getting sick again.
○ If you got attacked or something his need to keep you somewhere safe will be even greater. He will start to suspect bad intentions from everyone leading to even you noticing his paranoïa.
○ He isn't the type to just lock you up though. He does respect you as a person but he will do his best to convince you staying at home. If that doesn't work you will be under secret surveillance 24/7.
○ He will try to strike a contract with you which ends up tying you to him.
○ He isn't jealous but he doesn't approve you talking to other people either due to safety reasons.
○ Overall, you have to do your best to keep your little freedom you have.
○ He isn't the worst yandere to have but if you are that type of person who wants to travel and see every corner of Treyvat he certainly isn't your type of bread.
