Trigger Warnings -
Tommy opened his eyes, but if he had been told he hadn't he would have believed that because he could not see. Tommy lifted his hands to his face to feel bandages and panic flooded him. He began pulling it off, once it was off he found that everything was too blurry to see, just blotches of colors, nothing was identifiable, he was blind.
Tears fell and he saw something move in front of him, a gentle hand wiped away his tears. "Oh come on, you've cried too many tears lately mate." Philza's voice sounded in his ears and he lunged himself forward into Phil's arms. "Calm down..." he put a hand over Tommy's head, fingers running through his blonde hair affectionately.
"I-I can't see Phil..." Tommy held onto Phil tighter, hiding his face in his fathers chest. Phil wrapped his wings around the boy protectively, in a comforting hug.
"I know.. I know.." he muttered, holding his son close to him. "You'll be okay..." He smiled, even though Tommy couldn't see it, either way it was half for his own comfort.
They sat there for a few more minutes before Phil unwrapped him from the hug reluctantly. "Come on, lets go down stairs." He suggested, while getting off of the bed. Tommy stood up, and reached out for Phil, who held out his arm for the younger blonde, leading him towards the ladder, and helping him down. Once they were downstairs he sat him down at a dining room table and began to make some food.
Technoblade came into the kitchen, and ruffled Tommy's hair lightly, ignoring the boy's immediate tensing to the touch. "Hey Toms, Phil." He greeted them, smiling lightly. He sat down across from Tommy, before Phil brought some eggs and steak over, well bacon for Tommy, and Steak for Technoblade.
Techno sent Phil a half hearted death glare while he started tearing into his food. Phil just gave him an evil grin while taking a bite of bacon.
Tommy could smell the food but he didn't really feel like eating. He would have he could still see, and he trusted Phil enough not to drug his food... did he trust Phil enough? What about what Dream said? Maybe Phil didn't care either? What about big brother Techno? He probably didn't care either.
He submerged himself into his thoughts, listening to them whiz by and taking what they had to offer into contemplation. He barely heard Phil and Techno asking him questions, but when it registered they were waiting for a reply in his side he snapped out of it. "What?" He muttered.
"We asked, what happened last night Tommy?" Techno's familiar monotone voice replied.
"Oh." The young blonde thought for a moment. "Well me and Ranboo went to bed... and then I woke up in the snow and Ghostbur was fighting Ranboo?" He ended in a question. "He told me something was wrong with Ranboo and told me to go back to your house. So I did... but then..." he froze for a split second, pulling his legs up to hug close to his chest.
When Techno and Phil realized he wasn't going to go any further they changed the subject, wordlessly agreeing to go look into Ranboo's side of the story, maybe bring a few weapons for encouragement.
"You need to learn how to defend yourself even while blind Tommy." Techno mentioned. "So I'm going to teach you, plus, not being able might be a advantage for you." Phil kicked Technoblade under the table and glared at him but the Orphan Slayer just shrugged.
Tommy nodded, "I'm not hungry Phil..." Phil gave him a questioning look and was about to say something before he closed his mouth again and muttered a quick "okay" while taking his plate to the sink.
Tommy hated this, he couldn't do anything without someone's help now! And he couldn't go to Ranboo's because- well there were a lot of reasons now, most importantly he didn't know if Ranboo was to be trusted, though he hoped he was, but he also hoped everyone else was and he doubted they were.
'Hope is stupid, letting me down constantly...' he sighed, before standing up and finding his way to the living room, hand in the wall to guide him. Before Phil could offer to help him he held his hand up and refused. Sitting down on the couch he stared into the fire, he could see the colors move ever so slightly, but it was definitely brighter than the rest of the colors.
He listened to the soft whispers from the kitchen, the crackle from the fire and song birds outside. Tommy moved into a laying down position. He could still remember what everyone looked like but it hit him that he'd never be able to see them again. Tears started to prick at the corners of the blondes eyes but he blinked them away quickly. He had to stay strong, if not for everyone else, then for himself.
Tommy heard shuffling from the kitchen but ignored it as he closed his eyes. They must have assumed he fell asleep because they left the house leaving Tommy alone. He was always alone wasn't he? Physically, mentally, or emotionally... he was wasn't he?
Didn't matter. He was going to have to get through this. But Dream was right wasn't he? I mean he was always right but Tommy kept on doing exactly what he told him not to do. He was trusting people to much, Dream told him not to do that, he was running from Dream, he was also told not to do that.
Tommy curled into a ball, trying to become as small as possible, in hopes to hide from his thoughts. Hope, what a stupid thing to believe in. Trust, what a wonderful thing to break. Kindness what a fake reaction. Affection, just a false demeanor hiding the intentions.
Love, a blinding emotion that keeps you from ill actions of those you give love, and always let's you down in the end.
Tommy was blinded by all things before, and he wished for it not to happen again... even if he was actually blind now.
(Next few chapters will be good... trust me..)
