Trigger Warnings -
(Sorry I haven't wrote anything for a while- but auhmmmmm I have no excuse except for laziness! So enjoy this chapter!)
Tommy felt himself hit the ground with a thud, air leaving his body in an instant. He let out a pained and dragged out groan. "Y-you didn't have to throw me down... that hard..." He was still struggling for breath as he stood up again on shaky legs, and looked for the familiar pink splotch in his blurry vision.
Techno just chuckled. "Trial and error is the best way to learn." He replied, though it really had nothing to do with Tommy's statement. Tommy just threw him a glare in his general direction, hoping he made eye contact. This made Techno both chuckle and gaze at his brother with sympathy, or as Tommy would call it- Pity.
"Well at least tell me what I'm doing wrong! You don't need to push me over every time!" He complained, standing up straight now, holding the wooden sword up.
The Blood God just huffed and walked over to his brother. "Hearing is your best friend now, that and touch. Also with this stance I could knock you down with a single push!" He corrected the child's stance the best he could. "Try to focus on someone's breathing, listen for them. Feel the vibrations through the floor, pin point their location." He backed away from Tommy. "If I can do it you can."
"That's not necessarily true!" Tommy jumped to his defense. "Your older- and have been trained for this for longer." He kept his stance, realizing that the pink splotch was no longer in sight. Taking his brothers advice he tried to listen for Techno's breathing, though he doubted he'd be able to find Techno unless he wanted to be found by Tommy.
Tommy was too right, because he was able to hear Techno breathing behind him, and the footsteps, which may have been almost completely silent did leave way to much of an impact to be the Orphan Slayer's. "Now your just making it easy for me!" Tommy swung his sword around, turning around with it, the tip of it now pointed at Techno's throat, the Pink Splotch now filling his vision like usual.
"Heh!? I don't know what your talking about!" Techno denied before quickly changing the subject and taking the sword from Tommy's hand, way to easily and quickly for Tommy's comfort. "I think it's lunch time, maybe you can tell Phil about what you've learned."
Tommy's blind blue eyes lit up with excitement and he rushed over to the cottage, being familiar with the surrounding area. He took extra care on the steps though, because one time he had sprinted down them and landed face first in the snow, and according to Technoblade just barely missing a sharp rock- that Tommy assumed they had moved now.
Technoblade chuckled at his little brother's excitement, following more slowly after him. He took a quick glance at Ranboo's home across the snowy landscape. Ranboo was at L'manburg right now because the group had a collective agreement that it was for the best for now. Shaking his head softly he looked back to the cottage, muttering annoyed when he found that Tommy had forgotten to close the door, again.
Tommy was sat down with Phil, eating a bowl of soup and asking Phil if his porridge tasted good while Phil kept telling him it was soup.
"I'm being serious Tommy!" Phil stated, but the amusement on his face gave it all away to Techno. Unfortunately Tommy couldn't see it. "It's not porridge! Just soup, like yours."
Tommy laughed before pretending to vomit. "Ew! So you gave me porridge too? What is wrong with you old man??" He playfully pushed the bowl away and stood up to go to the couch. Though this all looked like an innocent act of a joke Techno and Phil saw right through it, Tommy was simply just done eating anything though he only had 5 or so spoonfulls.
Techno just gave Phil a worried glance before taking Tommy's bowl to the sink and grabbing his own to eat. Tommy sat on the couch quietly, not wanting to bring attention to him now, but Techno had different plans.
"You know Phil, Tommy has been getting great at defense. He only started a 2 weeks ago and he's already got a sword at my throat." Technoblade praised, which made Tommy immediately turn around.
"He let me, it doesn't count!" His voice was slightly raised which Techno and Phil saw as a good sign because he barely ever raised his voice, but he had been doing it alot more recently, like their old Tommy. He still has yet to say a curse word, or even be able to hear them but they were making progress and that's what mattered.
The family of three bickered for a bit, eventually finding themselves all on the couches, talking and chatting. The chat didn't last long as Tommy drifted off to sleep in Phil's lap, so Techno grabbed some blankets and a few books for him and Phil, all relaxed on the couch together.
(This chapter may seem like a filler but it was important, I mean Tommy is making progress!! Anyway... see ya later.)
