Trigger Warnings -
Tommy laid on the floor, he didn't dare move in case pain struck again. Like usual he was waiting for the torch light to die, waiting for cold darkness to envelop him in its grasps so he may keep the little bit of peace he can. Though as he waited he was unsure of how much time had passed, but the torch wasn't dying and when he looked over he was surprised to see it had died out. Where was the light coming from them?
The kid turned his head to where Dream left to find that the door was partially opened. Dream had slammed it before but he seemed to have slammed it so hard this time it reopened, and this worried Tommy because maybe Dream would think he tried to escape? Getting up slowly, trying to ignore the pain that was shooting through him like lightning, he stood on his feet shakily. Light headed and pale from not seeing the sun for so long he walked to the door to find he couldn't reach it without climbing up a set of stairs. He knelt down and climbed up the stairs before standing up again on the last one.
What he found scared him slightly, there was a blue sky and a light breeze with fluffy white clouds on the horizon. There was grass and tall oak wood trees, quite beautiful if he wanted to believe it was real. He took a step forward slightly hoping he wasn't dreaming, because this all felt so real compared to his other dreams.
He found that the grass tickled his bare feet and he could actually feel it for once. The breeze felt nice and refreshing in his lungs and he began walking away from the iron door leaving the torturous room behind.
This was all so surreal to him but he didn't mind, he quite enjoyed it, maybe it was real? If he got a beating for being out here he didn't mind, this was the best thing to have happened to him for a really long time. As he continued he found that there was no longer grass under his feet instead it was hard and slightly warm from the sunlight, when he looked down he saw wood and as he looked side to side he began to recall where he was.
Tommy was on the prime path! He smiled, for the first time in a really long time, he smiled genuinely. A very genuine and bright smile across his face, too bad he had to head towards the nether portal to get to Logstedshire, after all he was banned from L'manburg. He began down the path towards the community house making sure to take in the smell of the air, the new terrain, and the feel of the sun on his skin and the wooden path on his feet. He took in another breath ready to cross over the bridge towards the large brick building.
Ranboo was walking around the DreamSMP lands, when he heard a group talking, looking over he saw Nihachu, JackManifold, BadBoyHalo and Skeppy. He walked up the group and greeted them, they all smiled and greeted him back as goes the normal greetings around here when Nihachu dropped her cake and eyes widened.
"Tommy?!" She spoke in disbelief and her hands were shaking as she brought them up to cover her mouth, staring at the thought dead boy. Everyone was very confused until they looked over and saw the frozen boy who hadn't dared turned around.
(A/N I know author notes are annoying but I'll make this quick, for plot purposes Ranboo can teleport but only around 10 blocks far and has to wait a second or two before teleporting again, thank you)
Tommy heard the old familiar voice behind him and he froze upon hearing it, he barely registered the cake crashing against the wooden path and a year ago he might have gotten angry but now he just wanted to get to the nether portal faster than ever so he began walking away and was going to get away if a tall half enderman hybrid hadn't teleported in front of him.
"Tommy, stop." His tone was harsh and stern, but Ranboo hadn't known how that would affect the new Tommy, the new Tommy was much more fragile and if he was still the old Tommy Ranboo would have expected a hundred curse words to come out of his mouth at once but instead Tommy froze head down and started muttering quickly what sounded like apologies.
Ranboo immediately felt guilty, and his face softened, "Tommy, you're fine, please, you're fine." He tried to comfort the boy but the blonde was frightened to death, he expected yelling and he half hoped they would drown him right now out of there anger for being such a nuisance as Dream put it.
Niki told Skeppy and Bbh to leave or something because they walked off and it left just Ranboo, Nihachu and JackManifold. Niki walked over and hugged the boy from behind making him flinch, causing Niki to pull away in fear she hurt him.
"Tommy where have you been?! We thought you were dead!" Jack started, and the blonde turned around slowly, his eyes weren't the usual bright blue, they seemed darker and pained, his skin was way paler than they remembered and his blonde hair was dirty and dark, but out of all that they noticed how bruised his skin was and the dried blood on his clothing. The scars that littered his skin and barely closed up wounds, some of which must have been infected before.
This caused the two to back up a bit out of shock but Tommy didn't notice he was lost in his thoughts and planning every escape if things turned violent, he never had an escape around Dream but maybe he had a chance to find one out here in the open.
"Let's get you back to L'Manburg Tommy..." Ranboo muttered quietly and put a gentle hand on the boys back, the four of them began walking down the Prime Path away from the community house and nether portal.
Tommy returned from the death according to them but to Tommy he returned to the people who hate him and want him gone, maybe he was going to get executed for leaving exile...
