"You what?" I said.

"You heard me..." Tate said with a playful tone to his voice.

I didn't know what to say, I didn't want to make a fool out of myself.

"Listen, if you don't feel the same way I completely understand, but-" Tate rushed.

"I love you too."

Tate smiled,

"You do?"

"No, I'm joking with you." I said with a smile.

He could tell I was being sarcastic. I nestled my head into the crook of his neck and we just sat there, enjoying the time we could outside of this house. He felt warm, which was a good thing, I was unbelievably cold but I didn't want to say to him. How stupid does that sound?

"Hey," Tate said, lifting my head from his shoulder, "I'm gonna go get us some food, you have any preferences?"

"I'm good, get whatever." I said, smiling back.

"Okay, I'll be back as soon as I can." He said, standing up and walking towards the store across the way from the beach.

What had just happened in that past ten minutes? I'm on a high of exhilaration I can hardly think straight. I heard a twig snap behind me, I assumed Tate had forgotten something.

"If it isn't y/n y/l/n!" I heard, I knew that voice from anywhere. God why tonight?

I turned and saw the group of high schoolers that were assholes to me during the time I went to Westfield.

"Awk, is y/n sitting all alone on Halloween?" A girl named Christine said, making a pouty face.

"I'll have you know that I'm not, not everyone takes pride in having thirty seven friends." I said back to them, standing up.

They started walking towards me.

"Hey, hey keep your distance kiddos, I don't want to be infected with your cockiness." I snapped at them, taking a few steps back.

"You little bitch." A tall guy with dark hair said, his name was Jared.

"Y/n didn't you die?" Christine said, "Or did you fake that to get the long needed attention too?"

"Oh, I'm dead." I said smiling at them, "You guys must be going crazy, seeing ghosts and all."

There were three other girls and two guys. Their names, Lucy, McKayla, Allie, Jackson and Tristan.

Lucy walked up to me and got in my face and said,

"Watch who you're calling crazy, you skank."

I just laughed at her. They all began walking closer and I said,

"Seriously guys, there's no point arguing with me and wasting your night, just clear off."

"Who do you think you are?" Tristan said, pushing both my shoulders back, causing me to stumble backwards.

"Oooo." I said to him, "You're gonna wish you didn't do that."
