I'd gotten no response. Surprise surprise, but it's okay. He never learnt how to use those things.
I got out of bed and changed out of my pyjamas into some clothes that had been left for me. Then I heard a knock on the door.
"Y/n? You decent?" Zoe called.
God. Remember calling that to Tate when we first left the house?
"Yeah, yeah come on in." I said.
She opened the door and peeped round.
"Hey, Miss Cordelia wants you downstairs. She says it's 'time to begin'."
"Alright." I told her, "Thanks, Zoe."
She gave me a slight smile and left again. Jesus, she looks so familiar but I just can't place where I know her from. I pushed it to the back of my mind and went downstairs.
I walked into the dining area, and found Cordelia sitting there with Myrtle.
"Morning," I chirped to them, sitting down, "you needed me?"
"Yes..." Cordelia said, "We're going to begin to try and reveal your powers. But first, I have something to tell you."
Hm.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Y/n, remember when I came to the house, the first time you met me?" Cordelia replied. I gave a slight nod.
"Y/n... that wasn't the first time we met."
"What? I hadn't met you before the house... what are you talking about?" I said confusedly.
"We met when you were 14 years of age, in California. You'd only recently moved in, and you'd found out about your mother's gifts. She didn't want you to know about them, so she asked us to place an identity spell on you." She told me.
"What the hell is an identity spell?" I said.
"It's a very articulate spell, not many can manage it." Myrtle said.
"Myrtles right." Cordelia replied, "It's where you forget your witch identity all together, and the powers will release themselves when the time is right.... I believe that time is now."
"Why now? What's so important about me?" I asked.
"I don't know how to explain it," Cordelia continued, "but since I visited your house... I've felt off. As if something is waiting to go wrong, and I just can't think of what it could be."
"The house?" I mumbled, "Don't you think it could just be because you were surrounded by all that negative energy? With the ghosts and all that? I mean you're still with one now, so."
"No. I know that feeling, I can feel it right now. This... this is much more powerful than I could ever imagine. Life as we know it...." Cordelia said, "feels like a ticking time bomb."
I froze.
"I... I mean is there no way to figure out what's wrong? I'm sure... I'm sure there has to be something." I emphasised.
"If we knew, this would have happened days ago." Myrtle said, "We just have to wait and see what happens, when the danger blooms."
"Danger?" I asked.
"Not danger, not necessarily." Cordelia interrupted, "It's just a feeling, it may be dangerous, it may not be. We just have to let time pass us by. I have to begin to try and reveal your powers, take the spell off of you."
"Okay... so do it." I told her straight.
"It's a little more complicated than that. Y/n, to complete this spell, you have to die and be brought back with it being removed. But you're already dead." Cordelia told me.
"Yeah? So just perform the spell without the death part." I told her.
"This hasn't been done before, we don't know the danger you could be in."
"Just do it. Please." I pleaded.
"Okay. We'll just try. But there's no confirms that this will work, I always have to warn you. There are dangers." Cordelia answered.
She stood up and guided me to a couch that's in the room with all the paintings of the supremes.
"Sit." She said calmly.
I sat in front of her while she prepared herself.
"So, this is going to bring back my powers you say?" I asked.
"Yes, that's what we're hoping for." Cordelia said, sitting beside me and putting her hand on my shoulder, "Are you ready?"
I took a deep breath.
"Yeah." I said quickly.
I sat back while Cordelia stood in front of me and closed her eyes.
She started saying some Latin spell which I couldn't pick up, but as this was happening I felt drowsier and drowsier.
She got louder and louder and then she poured some sort of powder in my face, then darkness.
"Come on! What are you doing?" He laughed.
"I'm enjoying my time out in the sun, what do you think I'm doing?" I responded.
"Wasting your time?" He laughed back.
"Tate! All I'm trying to get is a tan!" I said.
"Y/n, you're dead! That's not gonna work!" He jokingly yelled back.
I felt hands on my arms and then was pulled off the ground.
"Nooo, I don't want to go inside, Tate!" I laughed.
"Suck it up." He smiled.
I gasped.
"Y/n." Cordelia said, rushing over.
"Where is he, wheres Tate?" I asked strongly.
"Y/n, he's still back at the house? Are you okay?" She asked.
"No," I looked around me, "No, Tate was here. I- I... I was with him. I know it."
"Y/n. You've been out for three hours." Myrtle said from the couch.
"Three hours? No, no. I was... I was out for five minutes most." I replied.
"Come on." Cordelia said softly, and took my hands, "Let's get you feeling better again."
"I'm fine." I said, slowly coming back into focus, "Did it work?"
"I don't know." Cordelia told me, "But the good thing is that nothing bad happened... now. Let's check shall we?"
"Let's do it." I exclaimed.
Cordelia walked over to the piano and picked up a small candle.
"Envision this candle in your head, then imagine it lighting. The incantation is inscendia."
"Okay." I slowly closed my eyes.
