"What?" I asked.

"I'm sorry. This coven isn't physically strong enough to break the magical bond of two. Only one." Cordelia told us.

"Okay, well it doesn't matter. We just won't leave." I said strongly.

"No." Tate almost shouted.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

He took my hands and looked me in the eyes and said,

"You have to get out of here. Even if I can't come with you, get out." He told me.

"No!" I laughed, "Tate, I'm not leaving you."

"Before an argument breaks out, I need to explain the process." Cordelia told us.

Tate put his arm around me, and turned towards the witches.

"First, we will say an incantation. Then whoever gets in the way of the power first, they'll be the one to leave."

"Like I said, it doesn't matter. We aren't leaving without one and other." I told them.

"Do it." Tate said, "I'll go."

"Tate, what are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, y/n."

The witches gave us one final look and then began chanting.

Incipio Serpus Malum, Consummatum est. Diabolo Fuge. Diabolo Fuge!

"No! Stop!" I yelled.

They didn't.

"Tate, please. Don't do this." I told him.

"It's time." Cordelia interrupted.

"I love you." Tate said.

Suddenly, rather than Tate walking forward, towards the witches, he pushed me.

I fell at Cordelias feet.

"No! No, no, no! What've you just done?" I cried.

"I'm sorry." Tate said as the witches continued chanting, "Get out, live your life, and remember that I love you always."

"Tate." I said, tearing up.

He gave me a sad smile, and kept eye contact with me.

All of a sudden, the witches stopped.

"That should be it." Myrtle told me.

Before I could even try leaving, I ran over into Tate's arms. He hugged me tighter than ever before, and said,

"Now go."

"I'll come back for you. However long it takes." I told him.

"You better." He said with a laugh, but his eyes turned to pure sadness.

"I promise. I love you." I told him.

I took his hand for the last time in I don't know how long, and then walked towards the gates of the house.

"It'll be funny if this didn't even work." I yelled to him.

He laughed, and nodded at me.

As I approached the gates, I thought about what I was leaving behind. The memories, my past life, the house, and worst of all. Tate.

I glanced at him, there were tears streaming down his face, but I knew this is what he'd have wanted me to do.

I reached the entrance of the gates, and prepared myself. I took a deep breath in, and stepped out.

I was actually outside of the house. They'd done it.

I turned around to Tate, and he smirked and mouthed,

"Hey, you ready to go?"

Of course. He's saying the first thing he said to me on the day we left on Halloween.

"Yeah, can you drive?" I mouthed back.

He chuckled, and ran his hands through his hair.

"It's time to go, y/n." Madison said, taking my arm.

When I turned back to give Tate a final goodbye, he was gone.

This hurt me so much, but I got into the car.

"Wait, so where are we going?" I asked the driver.

"Back to the airport." He said plainly.

Airport?

"We're going back to New Orleans. I think you have some real potential." Cordelia said.

New Orleans. A thousand miles away from here. It's not like I can get back easily.

"Potential?" I asked.

"Y/n, you are the daughter of one of the most powerful witches I've ever seen before." Cordelia told me, "I can't just push away this opportunity."

"But Tate already tried with me, I couldn't levitate an object." I told her.

"With practice, you could lift every object in a room." Zoe told me.

"Y/n... I believe you could be one of the greatest witches this coven has ever seen." Cordelia said to me.

"Really?" I said with sincerity.

"I do. All you have to be able to accomplish is several of the Seven Wonders." Cordelia said.

"What are the Seven Wonders?" I asked.

"First we have telekinesis and pyrokinesis, commonly paired together, controlling objects with the mind and controlling fire. Then Concilium, mind control. Descensum, successfully enter and return from your personal hell. Then we have Transmutation, essentially known as teleportation. Next we have Divination, finding an object located somewhere around the academy. Finally, the most difficult task of them all, Vitalum Vitalis. Resurrection." Cordelia listed.

"Jesus... that's a lot to take in at once. I'm sorry, but there's no chance that I could do those things." I told them.

Cordelia smilefully shook her head and they continued to drive.
