We were in another session again, and Tate was sat across from Ben, but in a rocking chair.

"I've met a girl." Tate said, looking in the direction that he knew I was in.

I smiled, knowing I wasn't visible to the public. I walked over to behind him, and saw a figure peeping round a doorframe.

It was Violet.

She was staring right at Tate, and he hadn't noticed yet. He felt the eyes on him and looked to his left, and saw her standing there. He looked down to the ground and then back up at Ben.

"Okay, well we're gonna keep you on those meds for a while, see how everything goes." Ben informed Tate.

"Thanks, Dr. Harmon." Tate said, standing up. I followed along and just as I thought I could talk to him again, I heard a voice.

"Hey, Tate?"

Tate looked to his right, thinking it was me, but he couldn't see me. He looked to the other side and saw Violet standing in her bedroom.

"Uh, yeah?" Tate responded.

"Do you wanna come in for a bit?" she asked.

Oh hell no.

Tate hesitated, and was clearly thinking, he whispered under his breath, intending for me to hear it,

"Come in with me."

Violet was still looking at him.

"Uh, yeah I guess." Tate said awkwardly and walked in.

She sat down on her bed, and Tate stood by her set of drawers, not wanting to get too close.

"You wanna sit?" Violet asked.

"No, I'm good. Thanks though." Tate said, standing his ground, "So, how you finding the place?"

"Ugh, I hate it here. I hate everyone all their bougie designer bullshit." She responded, rolling her eyes, "Do you go to Westfield? I'd be happy to see you there."

This girl.

"Uh, no, actually, I don't." Tate said to her, "You met anyone cool in school?"

"No. Only person I've met is you. I mean, I'm not complaining, but..." Violet laughed.

Tate gave a slightly awkward laugh, trying to be welcoming but not make it seem like he's going for her.

I walked out of the room, made myself visible and walked back in confidently.

Violet gave me a look,

"Who are you?" she said sharply.

"Hi, I'm y/n." I said back.

"And what might you be doing in my room?"

"Uh, I'm a patient, and well I saw Tate, so I came in..." I said calmly.

"Hm. You know Tate?" Violet asked.

"Yes, I do." I said with a smile.

"Okay, you two gotta stop being so passive aggressive towards each other." Tate said, smiling at me, "Y/n, this is Violet. She's Dr. Harmons daughter."

"Hey..." I said quietly. She just looked at me plainly.

"Violet, this is y/n, she's my girlfriend." Tate said talking to her.

Violet looked like someone had just slapped her round the face.

"Oh. Didn't know you two were a thing." She said plainly.

"Yeah, been together quite a while now, isn't that right?" Tate said jokingly, knowing fine rightly that we'd been together 15 years.

"Oh yes." I said, wrapping my arms around his waist, in an attempt to make my mark on Violet.

"Well, I got homework, you guys should probably leave." Violet said strongly.

Tate nodded, took my hand and walked down the stairs, he opened and shut the front door so it had sounded like we'd left, and we went down to the basement.

"So?" Tate asked, "What do you think of her?"

"I mean..." I stuttered, "she's a little, forward."

"Ohhh," Tate said, smiling and looking up at the ceiling and back down at me, "yeah... listen, y/n. You don't need to feel threatened by her. I've gotten the one person I need standing right in front of me. Do you really think after a decade of us, I'd throw it away for some girl who's moved in two weeks ago?"

"It's easy to feel this way though.  There's never been anyone here to intercept, it's always just been old people. Now there's a gorgeous teenage girl moving in, it's kind of... you know?" I told him, sincerely.

"Y/n. There's already a gorgeous teenage girl living in this house. But who knows? Who's to say you won't go off and hit on old man Marley who lives upstairs?" Tate said sarcastically.

I looked up at him, with a 'seriously' expression  on my face, and this made him laugh.

"Look, there's always someone that can come in and intercept, but that's life, you know? There's always other opportunities, but if you stick to your gut, you'll always choose the right path. My gut is you. Not Violet, not Nora. Not goddamn Moira. You."
Tate said.

I hugged him, and he walked us over to one of the side rooms which had a couch in there, he sat down telling me to come over beside him. I put my head on his shoulder, and he began humming a tune. It sounded like the one from the movie  'Twisted Nerve'. He hummed it slowly, so it didn't sound violent, almost like a lullaby. He put his head down on top of mine, and just like that I felt I was fading off, and then everything went black.
