Fracture S3 [Taekook]

• Unexpected •

The moment Kang arrives at the scene, was the moment he realizes he might be too late.

The entire factory is up in flames, with the roaring embers reaching out into the night sky, shooting out black smoke everywhere.

The fire department arrives shortly after Kang and gets to work putting out the flames, but all hope seems lost as the building begins to collapse within the roaring inferno, making it impossible for anyone to get in or out.

"FUCK!" Kang kicks the ground in frustration. He looks around the area, noticing tire tracks leading away from the building. "That has to be Jungkook's car." He mulls in his own thoughts, silently praying Jin and Namjoon are with him and not inside the inferno.

"Kang! Over here!" Solar's voice reaches to him through his scattered thoughts.

The Chief of police turns to her direction and sees her pointing over to the trees on the other side of the road, far away from the flames. They both see two figures within the shadows, one on the ground and the other hovering just above.

"Freeze! Hands up where we can see them!" Kang and Solar shout as they approach the two figures. Upon closer inspection, Kang's heart nearly flatlines as he finds Namjoon laying on the ground with only a jacket to cover up his body, except for his long legs that were badly burned and bruised.

The person hovering over him has their back to them, their face hidden underneath a mask and a cap. "He needs medical attention." A woman's voice replies to them.

Solar slowly approaches the woman, pointing the gun to her back. "Get up, and keep your hands up too." She says, nodding for Kang to approach.

The woman slowly stands up and turns to Solar, still keeping her hands up. Solar reaches forward and takes off the woman's cap, allowing her long black hair to cascade down her back, exposing two very familiar almond shaped eyes.

"Mask off, now." Solar commands, still keeping her gung pointed at the woman while Kang tries to wake up Namjoon.

"Please, get him help. He inhaled too much smoke." The woman pleads, still keeping her hands up, her voice muffled by the mask.

"She's right, Namjoon is barely breathing." Kang announces. "I need a fucking medic over here!" He shouts over at the paramedics, who are taking too long to get the stretcher out from the back. "Solar, cuff this woman and bring her back to the station for questioning."

"Got it, sir." Solar takes the woman into custody while the paramedics rush to help Kang with Namjoon.

"His vitals are weak. He might not make it." One of the paramedics says as they pull Namjoon onto the stretcher and take him away to the ambulance.

"Son of a bitch." Kang mutters under his breath, silently cursing at the only person responsible for this mess.

The weight of regret sits upon Taehyung's chest, staring down at him with a mocking grin as it watches him drown under a wave of tears.

Jimin soothes his boyfriend by softly brushing his small hands through Taehyung's curly locks, silently letting Taehyung cry it out because there really wasn't much he can say.

It's not like encouraging him that Jin will be safe is going to help at all. Jimin knows something has happened, something bad. He can feel it in his gut, and it was becoming increasingly nauseating the more he dwells on that thought.

A loud commotion from down the hall grabs their attentions, and they see a group of officers enter through the backdoor, all hurrying down the hall opposite of them.

Solar is amongst them, leading a woman with handcuffs down the hall. Taehyung can't see who that woman is due to her long hair covering her face.

"Where is Jin and Namjoon?" Taehyung asks when doesn't see Chief Kang, Jin, or Namjoon. He knows Solar left with the Chief, so why did she return with a random woman?

Nothing was making sense, and Taehyung begins to panic as dark thoughts seep into his head.

"Oh god, Jimin I don't see my brother or Namjoon!" Taehyung panics, his thoughts going wild with horrid ideas of Jungkook killing them both.

"Calm down Taehyung!" Jimin urges, then points ahead when Chief Kang follows behind Solar and her group.

"Take her to the interrogation room." Kang orders, not sparing Taehyung or Jimin a glance as he storms past them.

"Chief Kang, what happened to Namjoon and Jin!?" Taehyung can see the Chief of police is pissed off, and that mystery woman must be the reason.

So without hesitation, Taehyung follows Chief Kang, with Jimin right behind him, telling him to wait out in the hallway.

"Chief Kang! Please talk to me! Where is Namjoon and Jin?" Taehyung pleads again as he follows the older male to the interrogation room.

This time the older male turns to him, his face red with anger and frustration, but obviously not at Taehyung. "Namjoon is in the hosptial. He's in critical condition." He says, his eyes soften when he sees Taehyung's face go blank.

Taehyung could feel the blood drain from his face, Jimin's gasp becoming a distant echo as all the sounds around him slowly muffle.

"And Jin?" He hears himself saying, his voice trailing off into a whisper.

Kang shakes his head. "Sorry Taehyung, but we didn't find him. He must be with Jungkook."

On one end, Taehyung was relieved that his brother was not in the fire, but Jin is still stuck with Jungkook, and who knows what kind of sick torture he's putting his brother through.

"This woman was found with Namjoon at the scene. She saved him from the fire." Kang opens the door to the interrogation room, giving enough space for Taehyung and Jimin to step inside.

They see Solar sitting infront of the woman, with files of paperwork scattered across the metal table.

The woman looks up at them, half her face still covered by a black mask. But her eyes are clearly visible, and no doubt Taehyung is sure he's seen those eyes before.

Jimin has too, and his body begins to shake uncontrollably as a wave of trauma and nightmares resurface from within.

The woman removes her mask, revealing an all too familair smile that nearly has Jimin fainting.

"My name is Jung Dawon, and I know how we can stop Jeon Jungkook."
