Elise Pov

I woke up the next day and saw Thorin sitting in a chair by the bed holding his sword.
I sat up and threw a pillow at him.
He didn't jump or anything which was disappointing.
"Hi guard dog. What are you doing?" I said looking at him as he woke up.
"Protecting you. Are you ok? Since last night?"
"Depends... what happened last night?"
"You had a nightmare.."
"Oh.. I was hoping you forgot about that."
He shook his head slowly. "I didn't."
"It was just a normal nightmare. I'm fine." I got up and brought my travel clothes behind the changing screen to get dressed.
"You sure? You seemed pretty shaken."
"I'm ok. Now what's the plan." I said throwing the nightgown over the side of the screen and put on my Undergarments.
"We head for the mountains."
"Sounds like a plan...ugh" I dropped my arms as I'm having trouble tying the corset back myself.
"Do you need help?" I heard him stand up and walk over to the screen.
"Do you know how to tie a corset?"
"Yes. May I?"
I looked over my shoulder and nodded.
He smiled and started tightening and tying the corset back.
"Thank you.... and I'm sorry about last night. Normally they're not that bad."
"Have you had any others while we've been on the journey?" He looked at me with caring eyes.
I simply nodded looking down.
"It's ok. Nightmares are normal." I felt him finish tying the corset back and then he pulled my dress up and tied the leather around my waist.

"Thanks for helping me." I smiled and sat down putting on my boots, cuffs and braided my hair.
"You're welcome and I'm sorry you had to let Rose go. I know you loved her."
"Yeah I did but I know she's safe so I'm ok."
I got up and grabbed my bag and put on my cloak.
He nodded and we went to meet the others.

"Be on your guard. We're about to step over the Edge of the Wild. Balin, you know these paths. Lead on."
With that we followed Balins lead.
I stayed in the back thinking about the nightmare and everything that's happening.
"Elise? Are you ok?" I looked at Fili and kili as we walk.
"Yeah I'm ok just thinking about stuff.."
"And someone? Just so you know we were there too, we just left earlier."
I chuckled "thanks guys.... and I've been thinking about your theory...."
"And?"
"I think he does..... and I might too."
They smiled brightly looking at each other and then me.
"Wow. That's great."
"Yes maybe but not a word to anyone else. Got it? I'll bring it up at a much later time."
"Ok sounds like a plan." They smiled happily.
I nodded and Walked forward in the group a little behind Dwalin and Thorin.

"Hey! Hold on! - Aah! - Bilbo! We must find shelter! Look out! Look out, brother! Hold on!"
Various shouts are heard as we're trying to get through some mountains in a crazy thunder storm.
"We sure this is a regular storm!" I shouted.
"This is no thunderstorm. It's a thunder-battle! Look!"
We looked as a Stone giant threw a rock at another.
"Well, bless me. The legends are true. Giants! Stone-Giants!" Bifur said in awe looking at them.

I groaned as we tried getting up after the crash.
"Elise!" I saw Thorin running to me.
I held my head as it's ringing from the minor concussion.
Ow....
"We have to find shelter."
I nodded in agreement with whoever said that and tried to get up.
I felt Thorin help me and we all went into this cave.
"It looks safe enough."
"Search to the back. Caves in the mountain are seldom unoccupied." Thorin said helping me to the wall.
"Thorin I'm fine just dizzy." I said as he helped me sit.
Since I know I have a small concussion I stayed sitting up right.
"There's nothing here."
"Good. Get some sleep. We start at first light."
I watched as everyone went to sleep and I too eventually fell asleep.

About 2 hours later I woke up feeling the cave floor giving out under us and we all fell down into a wooden basket.
"Whoa! Look out! Look out! Get away! Filthy scum! Get back! You'll pay for this! Got you. All right, all right. Don't push. Get off! Get your hands off me! Get off me! Get off me!" we shouted and screamed as the Goblins herded us to their king.
He's big and fat and ugly.
Ugh not getting that visual out of my head anytime soon.
He finished his "Goblin town"song and then turned to us.
"Who would be so bold as to come armed into my kingdom? Spies? Thieves? Assassins?"
Thorin and the nephews stood infront of me protectively and I put my hood up to hide the fact I'm a girl.
"Dwarves, Your Malevolence."
"Dwarves?"
"Found them on the front porch."
"Well, don't just stand there. Search them. Every crack. Every crevice."
The goblins started grabbing at us and pulling our weapons till they found me.
Crap.
"My king! Look!" They dragged me forward and took off my hood.
"A girl!"
"No let her go!" Thorin shouted and they dragged me closer to the throne as the king looked at me.
"Such a pretty one too...." He looked at Thorin and smiled evily.
"Well, well, well. Look who it is. Thorin, son of Thrain, son of Thror......King Under the Mountain.
Oh, but I'm forgetting. You don't have a mountain. And you're not a king......which makes you nobody, really. I know someone who would pay a pretty price for your head. Just a head. Nothing attached. Perhaps you Know of whom I speak. An old enemy of yours. A pale Orc, astride a white Warg."
I saw anger in Thorin's eyes.
"Azog the Defiler was destroyed. He was slain in battle long ago."
"So you think his defiling days are done, do you? Send word to the pale Orc. Tell him I have found his prize. and I found mine."
He petted my hair as I was held by his minions.
"Don't touch me." I growled.
He smiled evily.
"I know many who will pay a pretty penny for a pretty thing like you. Bring her to the back."
"What? No! Let me go!" I shouted as I'm dragged away.
"No Elise!"
I heard Thorin and the others shouting.
I grunted as they threw me in a cell made of stone.
Ugh.
I got up and searched for my weapons and I realized they have my bag.
Shit!

Thorin's Pov

I watched in horror as they took her away.
What are they going to do to her?
How are we going to get her back?
Please let her be ok.... I can't lose her.

(I'm skipping to they're out of there because I'm not sure what else to write 🤣)

Elise Pov

I came to a stop as we got to a forest to rest and do a head count.
I leaned against a tree holding my bag catching my breath when Bifur realized that Bilbo is nowhere to be found.

"Bilbo. We'd given you up. How on earth did you get past the Goblins?"
Gandalf and I saw him slip something in his pocket.
A ring.
"Well, what does it matter? He's back."
"I want to know. Why did you come back?"
Thorin asked looking at him.
"Look, I know you doubt me. I know you always have. And you're right, I often think of Bag-end. I miss my books. And my armchair and my garden. See, that's where I belong. That's home. And that's why I came back. Because.....you don't have one. A home. It was taken from you. But I will help you take it back if I can."
I smiled sweetly but the moment was short lived as we heard a low growl and saw orcs coming our way.
"Great. Just what we need." I nodded as I finished strapping on my knives.
"Out of the frying pan."
"And into the fire. Run!" Gandalf said as we ran.
We ran to the trees for safety.
"Go! Up into the trees! All of you! Come on, climb! Bilbo, climb!"
I climbed up and sat on a branch above Thorin and Balin holding on as we saw a certain pale orc.
"Azog. It cannot be."
