Elise Pov

I sat in the tree watching the orc.
He's white with one arm. The other is a sword of sorts.
He pointed to Thorin saying something in his orc language and the Wargs charged at us.
(It's a fight scene and I'm bad at writing those so here's YouTube but first)

They managed to knock us all into one tree on the edge of the cliff.
I looked at Thorin knowing what he's thinking.
A sacrifice fight.
I shook my head as tears are forming.
Next thing I know he climbs up and kisses me.
It was a quick sweet loving kiss. And it was fast so I didn't really process it.
He looked at me once more before he ran to fight the orc.

I looked at his bloody beat body Held by the flying eagle as they fly us to safety.
Dear God please be alive.

They landed us on a safe cliff area setting him down gently as Gandalf and I ran to him.
Gandalf did a simple healing spell and he woke up.
"The Halfling? Elise?"
"I'm right here." I smiled.
"It's all right. Bilbo is here. He's quite safe."
Kili and I helped him stand.
"You! What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you would be a burden? That you would not survive in the Wild? That you had no place amongst us? I have never been so wrong in all my life. But I'm sorry I doubted you."
I smiled as Thorin hugged Bilbo.
"No, I would have doubted me too. I'm not a hero or a warrior. Not even a burglar."
"Not yet. But you will be." I smiled at them.

We took a minute to check ourselves and Thorin came over to me.
"Are you ok? Are you hurt?"
"I'm ok. Are you?"
He nodded.
I smiled.

We looked at the horizon and saw something.
A mountain.
"Erebor.....the Lonely Mountain....the last of the great Dwarf kingdoms of Middle-earth." Gandalf said as we all looked at it.
It's pretty far but we can get there.

"Our home." Thorin said with a smile taking my hand.
We saw a bird flying past us in the direction of the mountain.
"A raven! The birds are returning to the mountain." Oin said happily.
"That, my dear Oin, is a thrush."
Gandalf said with a smile.
"But we'll take it as a sign. - A good omen."
"I do believe the worst is behind us."

As Bilbo said that I held my side feeling a sharp pain.
"Elise? What's wrong?" Thorin said with worry as I fell to the ground and went unconscious feeling blood drip from my side.
