To kill the moment of looking at the majestic mountain Bard wants the money.

"The money, quick. Give it to me." He says in a frantic tone of voice right next to me.
"We will pay you when we get our provisions but not before." Thorin said pulling me behind him. "If you value your freedom, you'll do as I say. There are guards ahead." I went to the hull of the ship and saw the guards and looked at the barrels. bingo, got an idea.
"guys give him the money and get in the barrels." they went to protest.
"Don't argue just do it." I said grabbing my bag and puts it in the barrel.
I told Bard my idea and he helped me move my barrel to the back and I got in before he covered me with a blanket.
we pulled to a fish port and he went and talked to him. Next thing the guys knew they were covered in fish. Could I have taken one for the team and got covered in fish too? yes but I'm a girl and I don't like fish enough to smell like it so I'm the barrel no one will notice.

I could hear the guys complaining and then Bard kicked the barrel.
"Quiet. We're approaching the tollgate."
"Halt! Goods inspection! Papers, please! Oh, it's you, Bard." I heard the guard say happily.
"Morning, Percy."
"Anything to declare?"
"Nothing, but that I am cold and tired... and ready for home."
"You and me both. There we are. All in order."
"Not so fast. "Consignment of empty barrels from the Woodland Realm." Only... they're not empty... are they, Bard? If I recall correctly... you're licensed as a bargeman. Not... a fisherman."
Who's this guy? I looked through the hole in the barrel and saw a sickly man with buck teeth, greasy hair and a terrible hunchback.
"That's none of your business."
"Wrong. It's the Master's business, which makes it my business." Ohhh he's the master's pet. Makes so much sense.
"Oh, come on, Alfrid, have a heart. People need to eat."
"These fish are illegal. Empty the barrels... ...over the side. You heard him. In the canal. Come on. Get a move on." I held my breath as they bumped out some of the fish.
"Folk in this town are struggling. Times are hard. Food is scarce. That's not my problem. And when the people hear the Master is dumping fish back in the lake... when the rioting starts... will it be your problem then?"
there was a silence before Alfrid said. "Stop." and they stopped dumping out the barrels.
"Ever the people's champion... eh, Bard? Protector of... the common folk. You might have their favor now, bargeman... but it won't last. Raise the gate! The Master has his eye on you. You'd do well to remember: We know where you live."
"It's a small town, Alfrid. Everyone knows where everyone lives." Bard said as he directed the boat in the river roads to his house.
as we're moving I determined it's safe to come out so I climbed out looking around the town.
it's decent size, all on planks above the water with ramps and paths.
it's kinda cool. He came to a stop and the dwarves got out of the fish barrels.
Bard paid off the guy who saw us before leading us to his house.
"ok lads you go around back. lass come with me." Bard said pointing to his house and the guys went under while I went up with Bard and saw his children.
The first girl Sigrid. Then the Boy Bain and lila the littlest.
"Da, we're being watched."
"I know dear. Bain get them in." Bard said going to the lower level and I watched as the dwarves came up through the toilet.

They gave us some blankets and I sat by the window sipping my tea while looking out the window.
Thorin came over and rested his hands on my shoulder looking out with me and I felt his breath hitch seeing something. "A Dwarvish windlance." He said in shock.
"You look like you've seen a Ghost." Bilbo said coming over.
"He has. The last time we saw... such a weapon... a city was on fire. It was the day the dragon came. The day that Smaug... destroyed Dale. Girion, the Lord of the City... rallied his bowmen... to fire upon the beast. But a dragon's hide is tough. Tougher than the strongest armor. Only a Black Arrow fired from a windlance... could have pierced the dragon's hide. And few of those... arrows were ever made. The store was running low... when Girion... made his last stand. Had the aim of Men been true that day... much would have been different. You speak as if you were there. All Dwarves know the tale." Dwalin said leaning against the wall and we looked as Bain came over as Thorin is now playing with my hair.
"Then you would know that Girion hit the dragon. He loosened a scale under the left wing. One more shot and he would have killed the beast." He said with hope in his voice.
"That's a fairy story, lad. Nothing more."
Bain nodded sadly and went back to what he was doing.
"way to crush dreams boys." I said looking at them.
"what? it's not true, so why fill his head with stories?"
"that hasn't been confirmed or denied. So there's hope still. I am a firm believer in the unknown till proven otherwise as will my children be." I said with confidence not hearing the children part.
Dwalin nodded and Thorin just played with my hair.

"so your children will be like you?.... What if they're our children..?"
I looked at him as he has a neutral smile on his face.
"We're having the children talk?" I asked looking at him as he simply nodded.
"if that's alright? I'm just making conversation." I smiled and kissed him which he returned deeply placing his hands on my hips.
We stayed that way for a bit before I broke the kiss with a smile.
"I'll do a maximum of 3, 4if there's twins at some point." I said semi seriously.
He chuckled looking at me lovingly. "Perfect my love."
