A/N - This story covers sensitive topics such as violence, death, and childhood cancer. If any of these topics may trigger you, I advise you to read with discretion or choose not to read at all.
Thank you to everyone who has shown so much love and support to this project. I started this story when I was eleven years old and had just been diagnosed with stage four rhabdomyosarcoma of the heart. I am still facing this battle, and writing and hyper-fixating on researching random topics has become my biggest escapes. Keep in mind that much of my experience with cancer has been shaped by my own experiences, as well as research of modern oncology. Not everything in this story is 100% guaranteed to be realistic to what medicine was like in 1965, but I've put my best effort into it.
Love,
Weslie 🤍The characters in this story will be based of those in the book.
