I could feel the lingering stares of my pack members, even most humans.

They were obviously confused as to why Lucas Dawson was walking with me. Or maybe it was the fact that he had my purple back pack slung over his broad shoulder. Something which he refused to let me carry despite my protests about making us obvious. I didn't know where his own books were, I doubt he even brought a pen.

One glare from Lucas and the students quickly went back to their business, pretending they hadn't gotten distracted by the contact between two rival Alpha children.

"I'll take my bag n-"

"No." He dead panned, not missing a beat. We arrived at our classroom and he held the door open for me to walk in. I blushed as I stepped inside. I was surprised to find Joey sitting in the back of the room, he wasn't in this class. Though I immediately knew it had something to do with my father being worried about the new students from White Creek. We may be trying to get along but that doesn't mean that our packs are going to completely trust eachother. Not at any time soon.

Joey was chatting up one of the humans. I wasn't sure of her name but the poor girl was blushing furiously and giggling at every word Joey spit out. They always seemed to have this reaction when they communicated with werewolves, that was why most of us avoided conversations with them. However an atteniton whore like Joey loved flirting with innocent human girls. His eyes flickered to me sending a slight wink before returning to his conversation.

Lucas growled next to me and by the growth of Joeys smirk, I knew it was his intention.

I took my usual seat in the middle row with Lucas trailing behind. He glared at the human boy that always sat next to me. The poor guy hopped out of his chair and rushed to the empty front row.

Seeming unfazed by the trauma he had just inflicted on the human, my mate casually relaxed into the seat beside mine. He gave me a cocky smirk to which I rolled my eyes.

Having Lucas in class with me turned out to be way more distracting than I thought. The way he confidently leaned back in his seat with his legs spread out, was doing unexplainable things to me. I could hardly pay attention to the middle aged werewolf teacher who was clearly intimidated by his presence. She was stuttering through the whole lecture and her eyes would catiuosly glance at Lucas every few moments. My wolf was growling in my mind, not liking another she-wolf eyeing our mate.

The next three classes carried out the same way. Lucas holding my bag for me in the hallway, intimidating my old neighbors out of their seats, and Joey following at a distance. Not to mention the wierd urges I was getting to throw myself on my mate in the middle of the lessons. I was going to start failing if this continued. I needed to get control of my wolf.

It was finally time for Lunch and I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't sure if Lucas was going to sit with my friends. I knew Blake would be there and that wouldn't end well. To be honest I didn't even want to sit with them.

"Will you sit with me at lunch?" I asked Lucas as we walked down the hall.

I saw him smirk slightly. "I don't think your friends will approve."

"And that would stop you?"

"Never." He winked making my stomach flutter in response.

Kenzie was waiting in the usual spot for me. I think her eyes nearly popped out of her head when she saw who I was walking with.

"Um- Lena.." Her stare drifted from me to Lucas. "Are you okay?" She whispered despite the fact that he could hear her perfectly. Lucas growled lowly in his throat.
