I'm so sorry this took forever!!! Summer's been keeping me busy. I hope you like it. Things are going to start moving along soon.. I know it's been slow. After this chapter it will start picking up I swear!

I walked with Lucas to the cafeteria. I was starving and not looking forward to waiting on the lunch line.

My heart dropped slightly at the empty row of lockers. Kenzie hadn't waited for me. She hadn't even bothered to check if I was okay since Brenda's assault. I had no doubt she heard about it by then.

"You're sitting with me today." Lucas demanded, noticing my defeated face. I wanted to retort just because he could not order me around. However I knew that I would rather sit at his table then with my supposed friends. We didn't need a repeat of the day before.

We walked into the lunchroom and my eyes immediately darted to my table. There was an open spot between Blake and Kenzie. As if sensing me the two of them turned around. Blake held a hopeful face while Kenzie raised a challenging eyebrow.

Looking away from them I followed Lucas to the table consisting of his pack members. We sat down at the less crowded end with two guys and a girl.

The girl beamed at me. "You must be Elena!"

"Yeah, just Lena is fine." I smiled awkwardly, confused as to why someone from their pack was smiling rather than glaring at me. As a matter of fact, that whole day I hadn't received one evil look from any White creek member.

"It's so great to meet you! I'm Paisley Dawson, Lucas's cousin."

"And my mate." The guy beside her grumbled out. It was then I noticed his arm around her.

She rolled her eyes. "And this grump is my mate, Layton."

I felt Lucas's hand on my thigh. "Layton's my third in command, and this is Colton, my Beta." He introduced the two guys. Colton was grinning at me as well. His eyes flickered to Lucas and they seemed to be mind linking.

My mate's eyes narrowed and he growled at his Beta. Colton just chuckled and turned back to me. "It's a pleasure to meet you Lena." His smile was genuine before he resumed eating his food.

My stomach chose that moment to growl loudly. Paisley giggled and my face turned bright red.

"I should go get on the lunch line." I excused myself and went to get up but Lucas held me down.

"There's no need." He told me as one of his pack members brought over a tray piled high with food. "Thanks Danny." He told the guy.

"No prob Alpha." He bowed at Lucas and to my surprise he bowed at me as well.

My jaw dropped as I turned to glare at Lucas.

He didn't.

"Tell me you didn't do what I think you did." I whispered to him.

"I don't know what you mean." He shrugged. "I wasn't sure what you liked so I had him get some of everything. I'll eat whatever you don't want." He pushed the tray towards me.

If I weren't so hungry I would have shoved it at him. I picked up a slice of pizza and bit off a huge chunk. My eyes however remained trained on Lucas. The warning in them was clear. We were going to have a talk later. If he thought I was an idiot and wouldn't figure out why all of his pack was suddenly treating me like the moon goddess who landed on earth...well then he had another thing coming.

"So Lena, I heard about what happened yesterday. I hope your feeling okay, Brenda's always been a bully so don't take it to heart." Paisley gave me a reassuring smile, distracting me from my anger at my mate. I had a feeling I was going to really like her.
