Thank you for 200 reads!!Luke's POV
This new school is just as shitty as my old one. An entire building filled with nothing but fake, lying assholes, and I was trapped in with them for 8 hours a day. So you shouldn't blame me for skipping a class or two.
I walked down the hall, heading the opposite direction of my classes. Teens rushed to get out of my way, keeping their heads down. A stupid freshman decided to get too close so I stuck my foot out, tripping the small nerd. He sprawled out across the floor, arms and possessions flying everywhere. Most stopped to laugh as I walked away.
Yeah, I was a jerk, but it was the way to keep people away. If you made it a point that no one can talk to you, no one will. There are a few guys I hung around with just to prove I wasn't a loner.
But really, I am alone.
Not that I give a damn. No one has ever gave a damn about me so why would I need them? I'm an only child and my dad decided to leave us because of his addiction to drugs. Great role model huh? My mom went off the deep end after that, but she was constantly working to keep us floating. She was always nice and sweet to me, but it's like she clocked out of my life a long time ago. Never caring what I did or why I did it.
That's why I was so intrigued by Reyna.
She wouldn't duck and cover whenever I passed by or looked her way. I was able to talk to her without getting lame, scared responses. Yeah, she's a little awkward, but it somehow made her better. Reyna is the first girl I've ever seen to not give a shit about the drama filled horrors that were tossed around.
It also helped that she was hot.
I can't believe other guys weren't all over her. Her eyes were this cool mixture of gold and green, and face was like really smooth and defined. She had long, soft chocolate hair that I wanted to run my fingers through. She also didn't load herself with pounds of that make up crap. I don't mind if it's minimal, but when chicks paint it on they look like an oompa loompa and it gets all over my black clothes.
When Reyna had broke yesterday it seemed to have shattered whatever heart I have. I never asked her what the cause of her tears were, but I could guess. Since after the party, I've heard the whispers. Not just about her spilling all the poor sap's beer but about Calum.
I was leaned up against a wall with Michael and Calum across from the kitchen. I mostly went to the party to get laid but I wasn't in the mood for some reason. I was scanning the crowd of drunken teens when I saw her. Reyna was awkwardly standing by some people as they talked. As if she could feel it, her eyes snapped up to mine, and a small buzz seemed to shoot through my nerves.
Michael followed my gaze and smirked.
"Hey Cal?" He said slightly slurring, nudging the tan boy.
"Yeah?"
"You see that girl over there?" He nodded his head in Reyna's direction.
"Yep. Isn't she that chick that sits with you and Sarah?"
Michael nodded and leaned over, whispering into Calum's ear. Calum laughed then walked over to where Reyna was standing, now alone.
"What'd you say?" I muttered with a small hint of anger.
The red head boy shrugged and took another swig from his cup he held. "Just said I'll pay him if he can get her drunk. She has a stick up her ass so this should be entertaining." Michael walked away when he saw Sarah beckoning him over. I can't believe he has a girlfriend. He just never seemed the type. I had stayed in my spot and watched the interaction between Reyna and Calum. She was a blushing mess under his gaze. He suddenly took her hand and pulled her to the dance floor. I felt my jaw clench when she smiled.
