Luke in the gif ugh *dies*

Reyna's POV

"Shut up. No way."

I rolled my eyes at Sarah who was now in shock after explaining what happened with Luke. She had demanded to know where I went after fleeing a second party. Sarah hadn't even been there, but the word about Calum and Luke's fight and my passing out had spread quickly.

I'm trying to keep that part in the back of my mind, though, and focusing on the fact that I was asked out on a date. I've spent the entirety of my high school career imagining what my first date would be like (lame I know), but now I've gone completely blank. Luke was definitely not the guy I imagined to be the one to ask me. So everything that could possible happen was unpredictable.

The punk blonde was refusing to remove himself from my thoughts. Right when I think he's fading away, he'll text me some lame joke. I would end up giggling and then allowing him to consume my mind once more. Luke wasn't shy when it came to flirting. He knew the right things to say, to make me fall into a blushing mess. His statements were bold and reckless, giving another reason to leave me breathless. Luke was revealing more of himself through the constant messaging. He was kind of dorky in ways. Showing a side I never dreamed of seeing.

Sarah sat on my bed, blabbering about what to do and not do on a date when my phone buzzed once again.

Luke: What do you call a penguin in a desert? ((:

Luke: lost!

I laughed into my hand as I texted a quick "you're lame" back to him. Fingers were suddenly snapped in front of my face, making me realize that Sarah was still there.

"Hello? I'm giving life changing advice here." She scoffed.

"Sorry, sorry. I'm listening." I smiled, folding my hands in my lap to make a point. Sarah rolled her dark brown eyes at my slight sarcasm. They reminded me of Calum's in a way.

I hadn't really thought of the raven boy since seeing him last night. It's not like he's attempted to contact my anyways. The lack of communication began to confirm Luke's accusations of him only using me. I honestly didn't know what to feel about it. Hurt, I guess? But for some reason I just felt nothing. Like the attempts to cause me humiliation didn't even matter anymore. I just wanted it to stop and let me be free. Maybe one day I'll figure out why they want to inflict this pain on me, but for now, I'll just store it in the back of my mind.

"You can sext Luke later. We need to get down to business." She giggled earning a horrified gasp from me. I tried to protest but she held up her hand. Grabbing her car keys from off my nightstand, she pulled me away from my bed and towards the front door, allowing me only a small window of time to brag my purse.

"We're going to make you look hot, Rey."

The parking lot was flooded with a torrent of cars. Teens laughing loudly together as they walked towards a busy mall. I never understood why people hung out here so much. You just walk in circles and buy over priced things. The whole idea was a waste of time really.

Sarah was certainly at home, though. She happily dragged me from store to store, forcing me try on multiple outfits. Like usual, I was constantly glancing around and tugging at my clothes, hoping all the strangers' eyes weren't on me. I kept my head down as we walked through the clothes racks. My hands twisting together as I grew impatient with Sarah's browsing.

Calm down, Reyna. You can make it through this.

"Casual or formal?" Sarah asked, snapping me from a haze.
