She was too slow, Eira couldn't seem to respond, mainly because she found the person so unpleasant that she couldn't help but want to hesitate.

Blinking she saw the scarlet hair dripping red as the emperor yanked her wrist impatiently, blood on his hands smearing her clean gloves.

The door slamming shut brought her back to reality and the sound made her flinch, trying to control the heart beat that was racing out of control.

'Why?,What did I do?'

Because Eira was being pressed against the other side of the door his majesty staring down at her, so close that she could see the inside of his wound. His blood darker than his hair sliding down into his collar seductively like fingers tracing down his chiselled chest.

Trying not to bite her lip or cringe she found the courage to look him in the eyes, meeting the eyes of the infamous Red King.

"Why did you laugh?" Looking as if he could devour her. "Is it funny?"

"Your majesty, how would you prefer I react?" A little hint of anger in her voice. "May I speak informally your majesty?"

"Yes." Whispering through gritted teeth, wanting to take a bite out of the delicate collar bone. "Most women are likely to scream."

Raising an eyebrow she sneered, "What a waste of energy... Also they're already dead."

Slipping away from him, her long hair brushed against his chest wafting the smell of flowers that itched his nose.

Walking further in the room, she observed her surroundings unconsciously counting the number of corpses... four that were all maids.  A large painting of the main palace had not been spared from the carnage, the lines of red looking garish against the soft hues of the discoloured art work.

Noticing her remove her gloves and place them on the table, he wiped the congealing blood on his trouser leg.

"And what if they weren't all dead?"

Listening to his words as her eyes traced the luxurious cutlery, a plate of roast beef and the glassware.

Pausing, not facing him staring at the tip of the gold fork.

"I don't think that would have changed anything." She muttered softly.

"She begged for mercy from you and asked for her life." He spoke cruelly forcing her into the scenario.

"You would pardon her because I asked for it?"

"Yes." He said without elaborating.

"Why?" Finding his answer bizarre. "When everything is laced with poison...If I ate with that fork or drank from that glass." Eira spoke irritably.

Looking at him uncaring about how he saw her, "Because you possess divine power do people consider your existence saintly?"

Looking at her frustrated face he approached, speechless but satisfied that their views were the same.

"Are you dissatisfied?"Amused by her lengthening the distance between them.

A frown etched on her face, "How dare I be."

"They say the amount snowfall in the north has risen over the last ten years." He mentioned looking at
the rising anger in the woman, the dangling earrings trembling with her gritted teeth.

"You could have left with the Grand Duke,Why didn't you?"

"I was happy." She almost shouted clenching her hands.

"Sometimes I can't tell whether you're ignorant or just cute." Stepping forwards as she drifted towards the opposite end of the wall.

Her chilling gaze directed at him with eyes that seemed to glow made his mouth dry with thirst.

"Living in a prison you designed yourself."

"You see through everything don't you." Squeezing the fabric of her dress, "With those very bright eyes and eloquent tongue."

"As much as you show me with that clean soul of yours."

"Clean... I'd say empty." She spoke as if hearing the most hilarious joke.

"What do you want?" Hearing such words she was confused by his ambiguous words, uncertain she couldn't control herself.

Looking at him, trying to figure out what words to say, her eyes filled with hatred seem to say 'how dare you ask me that.'

"Everything feels like a lie." A little choked up, Carmen stood a little stunned by her answer.

"I feel like a protagonist from a fairy tale... Alice who bumped her head and fell down a rabbits hole into wonderland." Smiling a little at how fitting her analogy was.

The eyes were emotionless and glazed over, Carmens heart tightened staring at the holy figure who could stand at the top of his world as people fought over her.

"When people die they should remain dead."

'But she would still not want anything.'

Walking towards her without stopping his hand slammed against the wall behind her, the chill from her body growing stronger. Parts of the wall crumbling against the strength of his large hand.

Looking into his furious vertical irises that were like a threatening beast about to attack, she enunciated softly.

"I want to disappear."

"Eira!" He shouted, releasing a menacing growl. "I've been kind enough to you, don't speak such words in front of me!"

His heated breath against her face, Eira who felt helpless responded instinctively.

"Punish me then."

A scorching tongue swiped at the petal like lips as coarse fingers clasped the back of her head, laying claim to her mouth sucking and biting for access.

'You started this.'
