Chapter 23: The Saintess

Dahlia (OG Heroine) POV:

Its been four hours already! That damn filthy intentioned mage took my- lady Eira for so long already, what if something happened to her?

Oh but I wonder what happened. I went to talk to the pope about it quietly, since the topic of the saviour is all the rage and the pope wanted to keep lady Eiras identity as quiet possible.

She... is someone who is extraordinarily beautiful, brave, funny and a little ignorant.

Adamant that she's not who the goddess has confirmed before everyone, also I can't help but to feel worried about her.

I suppose it's the same for everyone else? To describe her she is like the moon reflected on the surface of a pond. 

An illusory presence that will disappear if you get too close, but it seems she's okay with me but I don't want to lose her.

She's the first friend I've had-really, the temple isn't really a place to have friendships since everyone thinks it's a competition for favour.

Because of my face some priests think I've done some sort of indecent exchange, obviously I haven't so... I don't know what to do.

I've heard Eira has some kind of creation magic, which is in between divine power and magic, I think thats unprecedented-didn't the previous saviours just have great magic or sword skills?

I think there's something the Elves are hiding and I also don't like his majesties interest in her.

I don't like it at all.

Anyway I told him Eira's missing and then I saw something bright and then I guess I fainted?

Honestly I don't know what's been happening these days, I'm much too tired for some reason. Also after using my divine power on whoever is in need of it, it's just been so difficult to draw out.

It's like pouring out a glass of viscous liquid instead of water, truly its really bizarre.

After placing Dahlia down on a makeshift bed and ordering trusted Cardinals to take good care of her, Pope Harrington rushed off to see the Emperor.

Those Cardinals nervous by the intense fluctuations of divine power, many unfathomable things happening all at once.

Unfortunately they can only try their best to deploy the paladins and priests to suppress the nobles until the Emperors further notice.

A tyrant that won't forgive a slightest mistake and the majority that fear him dare not to act foolishly, since a mere accusation or mistake in wording can get you killed.

Although Dahlia was unconscious she could faintly hear what was going on, but then as if the sound had been purposely blocked off a powerful coercion could be felt.

She didn't dream but she heard an ambiguous voice that pulled her to listen and no matter how she tried to rebel against it, it was futile as it pulled her in like a doll being played with.
