We shouldn't.
You're right, we shouldn't.
But... I want to.
Are you sure?
I am...
Tempest, are you sure?
Yes, kiss me. just kiss me.
But you said we shouldn't. You said
Forget what I said. Just for today.
I don't want just today, though.
Sorry, that's all the time we have for now.

I jolt awake as my alarm blares throughout the room. I reach for my nightstand and turn it off. My heart is racing as I try to calm my breathing.

What the fuck?
Why? Why? Why? Why am I reminding myself?

I throw the covers aside and get out of bed. I decided to wake up early today, so I don't feel like I am wasting the day by rushing to get things done. I look around the floor, seeing wrappers of snacks when I was binging last night. I pick them up and throw them in the trash bin, making things easier for Annette for later.

I walk into the bathroom, stopping before the mirror.
I remove the plastic bonnet from my head, surprised it stayed on all night. I did have to layer it with another scarf which is no longer on my head, but still, that is some progress.

I turn on the shower and dunk my head, rinsing the remaining residue of the hair dyes. I thoroughly and gently wash my hair with chemical treatment for dyed hair. I look in the mirror again, smiling at the results.

I section my hair.
Grab the scissors, reminding myself not to go crazy this time. I haven't cut my hair after letting it grow out.

I trim off three inches and brush out my hair. I apply my regular products and diffuse the curls. This took a long ass time.
But in the end... good Lord.

My once dark, dull brown hair is now a mix of jet black and ends of platinum blonde. The way the roots slowly go from black to blonde as they curl reminds me of a storm. a twister. a hurricane. I fluff my hair out, admiring the length and new color.

Today's schedule: I have to revisit the office later tonight to check the renovation process for my office. But for the morning, I have to go check out the old bookstore I bought, which for some reason is still up and running under Malachi's control. It has been helpful for his job, so he kept it. Afterward, I have to meet with Mr. Rowland Howards to sign off on the casino and the house ownership, also to discuss all banking accounts.

Today is the day where everything will be finalized.
where I am officially inheriting everything left in my name.

I make my bed, and dust off all the crumbs from last night. I get my bag and place my laptop and one of the binders Malachi had given me. I thought I can get a start to this with the time I have left.

I take out a black turtle neck and a plaid black and white skirt, with black stockings. I double-check myself in the mirror.

Did I gain some weight?
Maybe a little bit, but that's alright. More of me in the world, I guess.

I find Frank walking up the stairs as I am walking down.
He looks up and blinks rapidly.

"It... it was one night... how did you manage to change so much in one whole night?" he says, handing me a card, "Anyway, here is the business card of the renovation company you asked for. They have a really good rating and customer service. Call them anytime or find them at the address,"

I scan over the card and place it in my wallet, "Thank you, Franky. I'll be heading out, okay,"

"Where to?" he asks, "I can escort you today,"

I shake my head, "I don't need an escort today. I will send you my schedule so you can check on me at any time, but I would like to transport myself around,"
