4. Time For Another Adventure

Sonic's P.O.V.

"Whoa I didn't see that coming. I'm so sorry to hear that". I said in reaction to what Midnight just told us. "Thanks Sonic but now the problem is how do I get back! But I can't save them, my official battle training doesn't begin until I'm thirteen". Midnight said as she began to pace. "We can help follow us". I said as an idea came to my head. "Really thank you so much"! Midnight exclaimed as she hugged me. "No problem Midnight". I said as I hugged her back. Then we went to my bedroom. Then I picked up my bag of rings. "Here, think about where you want to go and throw it". I said as I handed her a ring. "Oh that's so cool and thank you". Midnight said right before closing her eyes in concentration. Then she threw the ring but nothing happened! It just fell to the floor! "Wait what?! I don't understand it should've worked! Hmm, maybe Longclaw can help us figure this out". I said franchically and we ran out of the room to find Longclaw.

Normal P.O.V.

Meanwhile in Oogie's hideout, right after Midnight disappeared, Jack stood there horrified. "No! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE"!!! Jack screamed as he turned into his Pumpkin King Form. "She's in a different dimension but that was only phase one"! Oogie replied showing no fear. Then he released Sally from her bindings as he pulled her closer to him! "Oh no you don't, get your filthy hands away from my wife"! Jack demanded as he charged towards them and got a fire ball ready. However Oogie teleported away right as Jack reached them. "NO! Don't worry girls I'll find you, somehow". Jack said as tears fell from his eye sockets.

Sonic's P.O.V.

We finally found Longclaw outside. "Hey Longclaw we could use your help"? I asked seriously. "What's wrong Sonic"? Longclaw replied in concern. "We tried using the rings to get Midnight home and help her defeat Oogie but it just fell to the floor. Is there a reason that could explain it"? I asked I as I showed her the ring that Midnight tried to use. "Hmm, oh no something is wrong! They can only be used to travel anywhere on Earth! Oogie really is determined to keep Midnight here for good". Longclaw said in horror. "N-No but...I have to get back! What if he plans to..do the most awful act upon Mommy?! He did say he had a bone to pick with her"! Midnight exclaimed fearfully! I knew this was gonna be hard for her to hear but it still broke my heart to see her like this! In fact I got a sense of deja vu to why I had to come to earth. Only worse! I had to cheer her up. "Hey it's okay, they'll be fine Midnight. Trust me it's best NOT to assume the worst. I made that mistake when I thought Longclaw was killed after she helped me get to Earth. In fact why don't we introduce you to our friends"? I said as I hugged her to calm her down.

Midnight's P.O.V.

I don't know how Soinc did it, but I felt calm and safe when he did that. "Whoa Sonic you're a master at cheering people up! It's like your optimism is contagious! Thank for that, and I'd love to meet your friends". I said as Sonic ended the hug. "Great let me just text them to meet up at my girlfriend's place". Sonic said excitedly as he pulled out a phone from his quills. "I'll let Mom and Dad know we're heading out". Shadow added and ran back inside. A few minutes later, Shadow returned. "So Midnight I bet you're wondering what my power is. Well stay close to me". Shadow said as his Sonic and Silver were already next to Shadow. I nodded and did as told. "Chaos Control"! Shadow exclaimed and all of a sudden, we were somewhere else! "Whoa teleportation fascinating". I said as I backed away a little.

Normal P.O.V.

Then they walked up to the front door and Sonic knocked it. "Hey guys you got here faster than usual. Hey Sonic I'm so happy to see you"! Marina said once she opened the door and kissed Sonic . "Shadow teleported us here since he wanted to demonstrate it to the new friend I told you about. And speaking of which, meet Midnight Skellington". Sonic said excitedly as they entered the house. "Hi it's nice to meet you". Midnight said shyly. "Whoa Hi I'm Marina Melody, it's so nice to meet you too Midnight. By the way, such a beautiful name". Marina said as she shook Midnight's hand. "Thanks it was my Mommy's idea. So how much did Sonic already tell you"? Midnight said as they sat in the living room. "Everything about your situation, but in a way that wouldn't spoil who you were before even meeting you". Marina replied reassuringly. After hearing that, Midnight explained who she was exactly. "No way Halloween is my favorite holiday! So this is a dream come true"! Marina said once Midnight finished her story. "Good news the others will be here any minute". Sonic said as he saw a text from Jessica. So twenty minutes later everyone had finished introductions and recaps. "Humm hey Sonic, I just thought of an idea. What if we can use the rings to find people and not just places"? Dib asked while in his thinking mode. "Whoa I never thought of that! However I don't know if that will work". Sonic said sheepishly. "Well I'll give it a try". Midnight said already holding the ring. Midnight thought of Sally and threw the ring. It worked but when she tried to go through it, it pushed her back. "I guess we can only observe". Shadow commented as he helped Midnight up. So they just watched what was happening.

Meanwhile at that exact moment with Sally and Oogie, they appeared on Earth. "What are we doing here"? Sally asked nervously as she looked around. "I heard that there is a human scientist who hates everything including humans themselves. So I'm gonna break him out of here"! Oogie said as they approached G.U.N. Headquarters! "Now you'll be the distraction. You see the place is heavily guarded". Oogie said creepily as they hid behind the wall of the gate entrance. Before Sally could protest, Oogie pushed her harshly towards the guards while still staying behind the wall. "What is that Max"?! One of the guards asked as they got in a territorial position. "I don't now Bob but it's trespassing on government property"! Max replied and joined Bob. On instinct, Sally started to run to get away from the dangerous humans.
