Love's POV
Temor and my wedding planning have been going great. My mother and the wedding planner managed most of the process. I did have to do much, which worked out because work had been hectic.
Since we are getting married during the holiday season, a peak time in my industry, I have to work hard now to make sure everything is covered then.
Temor hasn't told me where we are going for our honeymoon, but he did tell me that we would be gone for two weeks. With the long hours I am putting in, I will need two weeks off by then.
Tyler is turning one year old this month, and Bianca and I have been planning his birthday party.
We decide to have his party at Biancas local neighborhood park. I called and made arrangements to rent a pavilion. Temor wants Tyler to have a bouncing house, a clown, and pony rides. I vetoed the clown and booked a Barney character instead, along with the pony and a DJ. Bianca's parents took care of the food and drinks with everyone helping. The planning was done in less than two days.
Today is the day of the party. Temor and I are getting ready to leave when he sees my outfit "Love, are you wearing that to the party?"
I check my appearance in the hallway mirror. Freshly done micro braids up in a high ponytail, light makeup just mascara and lip gloss, jean cut-offs, a white tee shirt with Tyler's face on the front, and fresh white Nikes not sure what the problem is
"Yes, why, what's the problem?"
" Your shorts are kinda short," he says with a straight face.
"Yea, shorts are usually short..." I said.
"Seriously, baby, can you change?"
" If I change, I will put on biker shorts and a crop top." I am dead serious.
"Tsk, never minded Minah, let's go."
Oh, my baby is furious. He never calls me Minah. I don't want him to be mad, but I'm not changing. I don't want to start any habits like him, thinking he can make me dress a certain way.
Fashion is my career. I dress appropriately all the time. I respect myself, so I don't know what's wrong with Temor today, but it will have to be discussed later.
When we get in the car, I lean over and kiss his cheek.
"Te amo mi futuro marido" he smiles, and the mood lightens.
I can't wait for him to be my husband and for all this work and wedding planning to end. I am ready for Temor and me to return to our regular routine of spending time together.
When we pull up to the park, everything looks perfect. Bianca walks towards us with Tyler. Tyler immediately starts reaching for his dad. Temor picks him up and kisses his cheek " Happy Birthday, Man," he said.
Bianca is looking like she wants to say something.
"Is everything alright?' I ask
"Love, would you mind if Mo and I go speak to my family-"
before she can finish speaking, Temor interrupts her,
" No, we are not doing that. You need to let your people know what is going on, or I will."
Bianca turns and walks away, looking irritated.
"What was that?" I ask. Temor explains that Bianca hasn't told her family that they have broken up or that Temor and I are getting married, which means they will never get back together.
As we are talking, Bianca's mother comes to speak.
"Temor, nice to see you son, who is this young lady?" she is asking, but her face looks like she is restraining from making faces due to a bad smell.
I chuckle in my head and prepare to channel my own mothers' attitude because I can tell this lady will be a problem. I can tell I will need to handle this with maturity.
"This is my Fiancé Valeria Amor, but she goes by Love. Love, this is Bianca's mother, Mrs. Allen." he introduces us, and I extend my hand for a handshake. Mrs. Allen ignores the gesture. I place my hand back at my side and mentally keep myself from making a fist.
"So this is the one who broke up you and Bianca? Mo, I am surprised you thought it was a good idea to bring her here and flaunt her in front of our family?" she says this giving me a once over.
I take a deep breath because it probably does look that way. Tremor and Bianca were in a relationship when we met and when we hooked up. I have no defense. At this moment, I am that girl, and I hate it.
