"What's up?" He answered with a smile.
"Just my parents being the worst again." She groaned. "Stop being so cute!"
"I'm just standing here..."
"But it's cute! You're really cute all the time, why does everyone hate us?" She whined.
"What?" He asked, bringing her inside and onto the couch.
"My parents are trying to set me up with this guy for work and stuff, because he's going into a stable career and it would help my parents career or whatever." She explained, hugging him.
"Oh." He swallowed.
"He doesn't want to either, so you know, if it's fine by you he said we just pretend to date for awhile then break up."
"Whatever you have to do." He nodded slightly.
"I love you."
"I know."
"I mean it."
"I know." He repeated.
"I love you so much..." She whispered. "And only you..."
"I love you too." He forced a smile.
"Don't be mad."
"I'm not really mad at you."
"But are you mad?"
"Of course I'm mad, you're parents continue to ruin your life, and you continue to let it happen."
"What am I supposed to do? They've done it all my life! Do you think I'm happy?"
"No. Of course not. But I'm sick and tired of everyone keeping as apart Ashlyn! I want people to know how much I love you! I want you to go into theatre, not some dumb office job you don't want!" He shouted, making both of them cry.
"I'm sorry my parents wishes aren't yours! It's too bad!"
"Ashlyn I don't care what they think of me! I don't care! Their wishes aren't your wishes! And that's the problem!"
"Stop yelling." She said. "I love you and I'm more mad at them then I ever have been. I really need someone right now. I really want that to be you." She sniffed. "I can't handle all the pressure my family puts me under. I'm really comfortable with you."
"I'm so sorry." He pulled her into a tight hug. "I swear, I don't mean to blame you. I'd be doing exactly the same thing. I really am just sick of it."
"Me too." She cried. "Can you just hold me for awhile?"
"Anytime." They sat in silence for a few minutes, Ashlyn slowly calming down.
"I have to go home." She muttered.
"Oh. Bye."
"I love you Biggie." She said, walking to the door.
"I love you." He smiled slightly at her as she closed the door. Before it fully closed, he spoke again. "Ashlyn?"
"Yeah?" She stuck her head through the crack in the door.
"Please try not to fall in love." He said quietly. She walked back over to him, shaking her head.
"I wouldn't dream of it." She squeezed him tightly. "And don't get sick of me because of my parents."
"Impossible." He hugged her back, just as tightly. "Now go act like you're dating a guy you met two hours ago." He smiled at her.
"Bye." She kissed his cheek and ran home.
