Ashlyn flopped onto her bed and texted Big Red.

She put her hair up, put her jacket (which was really his) on, and headed outside a few minutes later. Standing with her hands in her pockets near his porch, she waited a few minutes.

"What are we doing?" Big Red jumped down the front steps of his porch and walked over to her.

"Dating." She smiled as he picked her up.

"I'd say so, yeah. But currently?"

"Dating, dating, and publicly dating!" She kissed his cheek. "Jack and I 'broke up,' so guess who's 'back together' with you!"

"Great!" He set her down to give her a hug, which he didn't break for awhile. "I love you Ashlyn."

"I really love you too." She kissed him. He kissed her back with a huge smile.

"So do your parents know we're back together?"

"Um... I'm not actually sure. I mean, they made me break up with you, so they'd probably assume we're getting back together. They'll know." She shrugged.

"Mkay!" He hugged her tighter.

"Wanna do something?"

"Hungry?" He asked.

"A little."

"Wanna grab some food?" He slipped his hand into hers.

"Sounds great, could we walk?"

"Sounds just as great." He said. They started down the sidewalk. "Where do you wanna go?"

"Your place works." She smiled.

"Mkay." He smiled back, the two of them walking silently for a few minutes until Ashlyn started humming, making him widely grin as he listened along.

"G'night baby." Ashlyn whispered to Big Red as he stood up to leave her house. She was half asleep, covered in blankets and both her own and his jacket.

"Night love." He kissed her forehead before walking to the door, which he opened exactly when Ashlyn's parents arrived. "Hi..."

"Oh, hey Mom! Hey Dad!" She hopped off the couch and joined everyone at the door, holding Big Red's arm. "He was just leaving." She forced a smile. "So... go." She nudged him outside as her parents walked inside.

"Uh, bye!" He rushed home.

"So... well, guess it's time to say we're back together." She sat on the couch, nervously putting her hands in her pockets.

"Clearly." Her parents sat across from her.

"I, um, explained everything to him. You couldn't really expect us not to get back together, I mean... we're in love."

"Yes, well—"

"Just... please don't make me not see him again." Ashlyn mumbled.

"You two are fine."

"So.... we can keep dating?" She asked. Receiving a nod, she ran up to her room and called Big Red.

"Did something happen?" He asked.

"I told them we're together and they're fine with it."

"Really?"

"Mhm!"

"Wow, amazing. And you're not in trouble, right?" He wondered.

"No, we're all good!"
