“Left! I said left, you idiot!” Severus snapped again for the hundredth time that hour after Harry had stepped on his foot again.

“I’m sorry, I thought you meant your left, but…I….” Harry was frustrated with trying to learn to waltz. This was the fifth lesson Harry had with Severus and the last lesson of the week. It was Friday just after their last class. Harry had told Draco that every evening this week he had some special assignments with Severus, and knowing Harry never lied, Draco didn’t question the nature of the assignment. The assignment was for both student and teacher.

“Let’s try this again, shall we?” Severus spat. “Now. When I turn to my left, you go to your right. Step one two, step one two. Got it?” Severus asked. Harry nodded. Severus nodded to Sara who had helped them by playing waltzes on the piano all week. The music begun and Severus counted off when to start. On the correct beat, Harry and Severus started again. They were doing pretty well until Severus started to turn and then it happened again. Harry stepped on his foot.

“I give up. You’re impossible!” Severus yelled and ran a frustrated hand through his hair. “You are supposed to save the world and you can’t even learn a simple waltz.”

“Excuse the hell out of me. I didn’t realize that waltzing was a requirement for defeating evil,” Harry yelled.

“Calm down, you two. Harry, you were doing fine until the turn,” Sara said calmly to them. “Perhaps Severus and I could show you how it’s done so you can watch. Okay?” Sara asked getting up from the bench at the piano.

“We need music to waltz,” Severus said in irritation.

“I can provide you with music in your mind. Just show me how to do this. It’s one week until the Christmas Ball and I’m no better than I was when I started. This is very important to me. Please help me learn to dance properly,” Harry pleaded. Severus sighed.

“Alright. Play us the music and we’ll show you slowly, step by step and you pay attention. Whenever you’re ready,” Severus took Sara’s hand and his other hand on her waist. “May I have this dance, Mrs. Snape?”

“Yes, my dear husband, you may,” Sara smiled.

“I will never get used to hearing Mrs. Snape. I don’t care how many times I hear it….it creeps me out,” Harry said coming to sit on the edge of the grand piano. “Okay. Here we go.” Harry began the waltzing music in his mind and they began to step perfectly together in the waltz..

“Watch, Harry. Watch my feet when we turn. I put this foot here and then…the turn,” Sara explained slowly and Harry nodded as he watched and tried to understand. Harry jumped down and followed behind Sara trying to imitate her movements. After awhile he was following behind her perfectly. “Very good. Much better,” Sara encouraged as she and Severus danced with Harry keeping in step with them.

“I think I have it,” Harry smiled. “Let me try again.” Harry kept the music playing and he took Severus’ hand and they began to dance a bit slowly and Sara followed them.

“Good. Now you’re getting it,” Sara encouraged.
